View Full Version : Cardio OK on low carb day?

I lift Mon-Thur, so I try to adjust my carb cycle accordingly:

Mon: High (carbs in the morning, Pre-WO, PWO)
Tue: Med (carbs in the morning, PWO)
Wed: High (carbs in the morning, Pre-WO, PWO)
Thu: Med (carbs in the morning, PWO)
Fri: Low (PSMF)
Sat: Low (PSMF)
Sun: Low (PSMF)

I'll do some cardio, usually HIIT, on either Tue or Thu.

My question is...

I play basketball on Sat or Sun, should I have some carbs to prevent muscle loss on these days? If so, how much and when?

Yep. Extra calories and extra carbs on those days for sure. I'd probably eat them in the meal before and the meal after the game. I don't like the thought of PSMF-type rations while playing something taxing like basketball - maybe for a walk, but that's it.
