Ramblings
This will be my tenth WBB journal, many of which never survived more than a couple weeks. Anyway, I wouldn't bother normally. I'm kinda past the whole journaling thing for bodybuilding purposes. Perhaps I've given up, but I've kinda resigned myself to what I've been able to achieve in the last ten years of lifting (never really taken more than month or so off in that time).

But...
I've had a few experience where I either had people say I should/could do some modeling. One was when a girl I know asked if I could stand in as an emergency model for a photoshoot (they found a real model) and another was a friend who does some modeling who said I should go to a casting call. Anyway, a week or two ago some totally random guy messaged me on MySpace and asked if I would be interested in doing modeling. I was immediately suspicious, but I checked out his website:

Ethan Kim Photography (http://www.ethankimphotography.com)

And it looks legit. His claim is that he's not currently a 'professional' and is trying to build up his portfolio. Fear often prevents people from doing things, so I said '**** it. Why not?' Maybe I'll end up in the back of a car, bound and gagged, but if not I'd like to look good for the photos. First shoot is next weekend, which is just standard portrait photography. He said the second shoot can be whatever I'd like, so I mentioned that at times past I've been near to passing for a fitness model (more like Men's Fitness where they're still kinda fat half the time). So, in the interest of not being a fatass for that I'm going to really try to buckle down.

And I'm back to the UD2, which I have a **** of a time adhering to, but is the only way I've ever gotten myself at least *somewhat* lean. Hopefully, I'll have 4-6 weeks to get dialed in. We'll see.

Only diet aid i'm using is nicotine gum, 2mg...generally 5-6 pieces a day as it helps a bit. I've used it off and on for several years and not found to be addictive (for me). In the absence of ephedrine (which I can't get anymore) it works reasonably well and is my only option.

Well, I usually eat a bit more. It's the UD2. If you're not familiar, it involves pretty significant caloric restriction on 4 days out of hte week (followed by a huge carb up and a couple days at maintenance calories) I shoot for 1200-1500 kcal per day, whcih would be ******ed if not done within the context of this particular diet. I would prefer to eat real food, but I have problems finding stuff that's appropriate. I do usually have a couple eggs at night to try and keep me full. Plus I've been cheating a little the last couple weeks, which is the reason for the journal. Lol.

Ramblings
So, the ****ty part of this week is over. On the whole, I did so-so. Still ate a few more carbs (and fat) than I might have liked, but I did better than I've been doing. This morning I was down to 205 or so, which is about 1.5lbs below my weight at the same time last week and that's just about what I'm shooting for. We'll see where I come in on Monday...that's the real test.

Now, I just need to stay focused over the weekend and not eat a bunch of **** I shouldn't. This is always the more difficult part for me as it's easier to rationalize eating **** I shouldn't. I'm going to do my best to keep the refeed clean (meaning low in sugar and fat) and moderate (meaning not 4000g of carbs, maybe more like 1000g).

In fact, he was a 5'8'' Asian dude who probably weighed all of 130 lbs, so even though I train mainly for looks, I'm pretty confident I could have taken him. Maybe. Um, well it's pudding, so I don't know that seems like a weird comparison to make. I mean Muscle Milk has a bunch of fat and carbs, whihc makes it taste pretty damn good. The pudding is definitely tasty, though. I *enjoy* eating it.

If you're talking about the Muscle Milk protein pudding (which they do make), I couldn't tell you. From the one person I asked who tried both, they said the Muscle Milk version tastes like **** and the Instone one was good (which is my verdict).

Ramblings
I have not been updating this as I should be. Been lazy and the Interwebz at home have not been functioning. Last week I saw a drop of about 1.5lbs (exactly what I'm shooting for) and started to see some real changes in my body. This week less so. I think the fact that I ate a bunch of **** last Sunday ****ed things up a little. This week was okay, but nothing great. Not sure I dropped appreciable weight. Refeed wasn't of a reasonable quality but not spectactular.

On a side note, as only a few people know, I was arrested for DUI about 9 months ago. It finally is resolved, which is a relief. I'm usually pretty responsible about this, though. My past behavior if I was the one driving was, I'd have a few drinks in the first 30 min to hour at the bar, switch to water, and sober up over the remaining 3-4 hours. So, typically, I felt completely sober by the time I drove home. On the night in question, my g/f at the time got really upset and wanted to leave early, plus she was falling down drunk early in the night so I took her drink from her and drank it myself which meant I drank a bit more than intended. I was pulled over for riding the fog line (apparently this is what they call the white line on the side of the road), and touching it 8 times after I returned to the middle of the lane. I was extremely cooperative, basically passed the field sobriety tests, but registered a .082 on the field breathalyzer. I was arrested, placed in handcuffs, and taken to the station where I took the Datamaster breathalyzer (the field BAC test is inadmissable in court), where my scores were .081, .08, and .079. Becuase the last test was under the legal limit, my license was not revoked.

I immediately spoke to several lawyers. One said they almost certainly wouldn't even charge me with DUI and that I was pretty assured of tetting neg driving in the 1st degree (which is an alcohol related offense) and I dind't even really need him. I didn't want someone who seemed ot have basically already given up, so I went with another firm, the head of which wrote the textbook all other DUI lawyers in Wa use. It was not cheap: $6500, but IMO like plastic surgery, if you're facing a felony, you don't want to save money. After a few months, I'd still not received a court notice and thought maybe they'd elected not to prosecute me, but finally the day before I was going to fly home for Christsmas I received a notice: I was being charged with full-on DUI (*not* the lesser neg driving). My lawyer got the date changed (since I was not going to be in the state). I then subsequently appeared in court on three occasions, and as of this past Wednesday, my lawyer pleaded down to neg driving in the second degree. Basically, the same as you'd get if you were swerving in and out of traffic making a lot of lange changes without signalling. It is basically a traffic ticket with a $550 fine. He said he maybe gets one of these per year. When I went to pay the girl at the counter looked down and quietl said:
"Wow"
"What?"
"You don't often see a DUI pleaded down to an infraction"
"I had a good laywer"

Part of it was that the police report was glowing. In fact, my lawyer said he'd never seen anyting like it and that 'The guy must have really liked you'. I attribute this to the fact that I was extremely cooperative, admitted that I'd been drinking, agreed to the field sobriety tests and field BAC, and was good humored and making jokes through the entire thing. Basically, all the parts where he subjectively assessed my level of intoxication he gave me the lowest possible rating, and even included statements I made at the time, in which I was taking responsiblity for having made a mistake (I said things like "I have no one to blame but myself", etc), which he didn't have to. If you happen to be faced with a similar situation, however, know that you can refuse both the field sobriety and field breathalyzer tests. If you refuse the one administered at the station (the DataMaster) however, typically your license will be revoked for no less than 6 months, so do that one. Also, don't answer any questions. In my case, it worked out to my advantage I believe, but had the cop not been a good guy, it would've basically meant I ****ed myself. My best advice, though, is to *never* drive after having more than 1-2 drinks (I now have a personal rule of not driving if I've had even one). Basically, this whole thing set me back by about 8K, which given the amount of money I make, wasn't a huge deal, but still sucks balls. Plus the stress and shame of the whole thing.

But in some ways, I'm glad I had the experience. It was _interesting_ that's for sure and given that ultimately I just was out some money, it wasn't that bad. No one was killed and I don't have a felony on my record. And I ultimately learned a valuable lesson.

Ramblings
I'll write them up in the diet section since that's what they have to do with...

Diet
M1: 2 scoops whey
M2: 4oz beef jerky
M3: small bag of cookies (10g fat, 30g carbs)
M4: 2 scoops dextrose, 40g whey, 10g creatine
M5: animal crackers
Totals: TBD

Comments:
Cookies were bad. I think I've been letting myself slide a bit. I've always been a calorie in/calorie out guy and the things I do are within the contraints technically of the UD2, but I think they **** things up sometimes. I think you can get away with a bit, but I think I've been eating a bit too many carbs and fat (although my calories are still near starvation). This week I did not seem to lose any weight and in fact went *up* (though, I think this was merely water weight or something). Anyway, I'm either going to really buckle down again next week or take a week off. Not sure which yet. Oddly, though, a girl I know saw me at the gym and commented that I looked like I'd lost weight so I must have lost some (I only saw her two weeks ago). Subjectively, too, I seem a bit leaner, but I don't buy for one second that I've lost fat *and* put on muscle in equal portions...which means I simply haven't lost fat. BLeh.

Ramblings
Took this week off from dieting. Did a kinda ****ty job of eating, though most meals were good. My real downfall was a couple of jars of honey roasted peanuts, of which I probably ate like 5-6 oz each day (Lots o' fat). This morning, though, I weighed in at 207.5lbs. I'm guessing it's residual dehydration from a binge drinking session on Friday that left me incapacitated for most of Saturday. I just stayed in bed almost all day and didn't eat until the evening. I'm a moron.

I'm trying to decide if I go back to the UD2 this week or not.

No legs. Didn't feel like it and my back has been a little twitchy lately. Pretty decent workout, though.
