We invented an exercised by mistake last night. Turned out to be a tricep beast. Help us name it!

No s***, I have some pretty expensive dental work that I was worried about...
You gotta watch your back too, don't wanna get stabbed.
And in some cases you have to watch your head as well! lol

I'd probably call it something lame like Reverse Band Pressdowns, but I always give things boring names (partially so I'll remember what the hell I did when I look at my log 3 months later). I may give these a shot, I've gotten pretty bored with tricep work (especially when I'm running too short on time to do lockouts/board presses).
Are those bands doubled or what?

we do something similar. We put the bar on a low pin (like second or third pin) and then while gripping the bar with about index on the smooth, put our feet up on a box behind us positioned so our legs are fully extended.
Keeping the elbows tucked, we go up and down (kinda like a push up I s'pose) for about 25-30 reps for about 4 sets. We rotate through all of us as fast as we can. Its a real killer. Couple of times we've seen who can go the longest and its had some very painful consequences. I would not recommend that haha
cool exercise ben!

Bands pushdown. It looks just like cable pushdowns, but with bands.
You could also call 'em Hooke pushdowns (or pressdowns), in honor of Robert Hooke and his work on elasticity.
What about the Linearly Increasing Load pushdowns, also known as LID pushdowns?
I don't think bands provide a linear progression though, do they?

I tried these tonight. Damn they blasted my tri's. In combination with closegrips, I think they could be one of my new favorite tricep exercises. Watch out though for others going to try them, I almost had the bar shoot up into my teeth a the end of my 3rd set.

barbell push downs? theres no other way i can think of to push down against a barbell. so a smart minded person will only think bands would be involved.
