***this is really goin to be a long post bros so bear with me here. first off, i'm very proud of what i did today despite missin a 500 raw bench which the strength is there...just need more time i guess and lockout work...yea i pulled another viking and missed 500 on the 3rd at lockout. the 722 squat and 741 dead were PRs. the 451 raw bench was strong and fast so there is no doubt that 500 would of fallen...just not today but hey, that' why we train! i DECIMATED PRs today so i'm very happy about that and it gives me an idea on where i'm goin to be at in gear...however, this is what i would call PYRIC VICTORY....a victory gained at too great of loss...

my former-partner, joe did a 500 raw squat, 361 raw bench, and 500 raw dead to total 1361 at 242 which is damn good for a first meet...but not so with joe. he didn't feel like did well. long story short, he felt like in powerlifting that he was below average in terms of strength. even after talkin with zak friewald and mike lanier, he still felt the same. he had came to the conclusion that powerlifting wasn't for him at all and he saw a 1361 total as losing. at this point, i couldn't do much to change his mind...if he didn't enjoy it, i didn't want him to do it. he really wished that he didn't do the meet and that really left me speechless. he was comparing himself to guys that had experience in the sport and it wasn't fair to himself. i didn't expect this reaction but his actions in the past few weeks told me of this but like usual, i deluded myself otherwise. i felt a good deal responsible for him feelin like that...and couldn't do much about it. i felt bad the whole way home for him cause i wanted him to feel what i felt...like the fire had been lit wantin more and doin it for fun and to better yourself...which i did...but joe didn't...so i'm back solo again...but i rather be this way than for his passion for lifting to die out which i didn't want. i told him to take a week off and do things that make him happy...my last piece of advice to him....

all in all, i guess it takes more than just physical strength and mental strength to be a powerlifter. my friend, jon oxford, pulled a muscle while attempting to bench 430 raw close-grip at 198. he had done an easy 415 to his surprise. he had already done a 600+ raw squat which he didn't want to lose so he pulled just the bar to keep it. that's heart...and the difference maker i guess. i also found out that's what i was tryin to do all along hoping that they would have this trait and it was a loss on both of us. hell, i found out that i'm not a salesperson and i hate my job so i feel joe on this. i wished now that i hadn't taken this new job already knowing this instinctively. i'm very grateful for joe for the help he put in. he didn't hold me back at all and him gettin stronger was forcing me to be stronger. i can respect joe cause he did better than the partners i've had in the past that jus talked about doin one but pussed out...he actually did it, it wasn't his cup of tea, so its kool...i also know he isn't as normal as he thinks he is..i won't believe that for a damn second...all in all, he was not a good partner...but a great one. either way, it sucks to lose one...

what did i learn from this meet...aside from the fact that i put up a damn good raw total and that i have more to expect when i get back into full gear...i learned that the qualities that we have as powerlifters we should be damn proud of. the fact that we chose not to be normal/average and want to be something more than that. i also learned that there are people who are fine with that and sometimes that in itself is hard for me to believe and maybe i never will.

i also learn that i can't do this anymore. tryin to bring in lifters that i had never heard of the sport let alone have the fire for it. havin the fire is one thing...that's something we can work with. but i've gone thru some partners...4 of which including joe, didn't have it. i've burned myself too many times to do this. don't get me wrong, i'm grateful for bring in guys like big nate who did his first meet last month, will and jay and others on here...they have that fire and i can keep it burning for them and show them a great sport and in return keep my fire burning bright... so now i'm solo again but i'm not takin on anyone else to be my partner after this unless that have it for the sport. period! it seems selfish but i'm not doin this to be average or normal...i hate bein normal as i imagine most of u guys here do...now more than ever cause i know of people who prefer that over challenging themselves...but its one man's choice and his direction.

i also know now its time for me to put some immediate plan to move to atlanta and may need help on this...cause that's where i need to be now. with other lifters who share that fire as i do as well as bettering themselves. i can no longer create that fire...it has to exist in the first place...and its easier for me to be around guys like i did last summer for the first time with big nate, tyler, will, and ryan...also like i did when i first came to my bench session at NGBB...and liftin with them and sharing that same love for the sport...regardless of the BS which is why i'm grateful to u guys, PLANETRAGE, BAG, ETC...u guys have it to be a powerlifter and proud to share the forum with you. at this point, i need to be around more of it and gettin a bit tired of the solo act too but in this situation i would go solo to save someone's love for lifting...

as u guys can tell, aside from my lifting, i wasn't too happy about the turnout of this meet for joe. if your reading this, learn from my error in this...and save yourself from the disspointment that i feel right now. but in light of this, the rage will burn brighter than before...cause i have direction...i also learned that u should do this sport for you and nuthin or no one else. better yourself first! that's what i did today and i'm proud of that regardless of the placing...but this is what it is...a pyric victory...

lessons learned but a great cost...but still i must walk the dark mile...

***today was a kickass session...i passed up on squats cause of my hip a little less than normal from the meet but its all good. BRINGER reminded me what go him ****in strong on the bench and i combined that with the close-grip work and see if it helps my raw like it did my shirted. it went very well...all the reps were pretty easy which i'm underestimating my own strength in this fact...lol! i went to repout 405 but could only get 5 off a fubar liftoff. then i dropped down and got pissed and hammered 225 for 45 reps for a PR. did some key presses to give the shoulders a break and some drip with weight which keep in mind was a task after all the work i had done. finished up with pushdowns followed by some new movements, super pullovers and h-rolls.

travis bell is one strong ****er...lol! but these new movements gave the session a new feel. after that i was out...i was sportin the new planetrage tank today which was awesome! also, i've come to a decision that now is the time to make the move to atlanta. right now, i'm workin hard to find something out there first before anything else, so wish me luck on this...

***was a bit fired up from watchin the raw 242 dvd i have...****in motivation. we in tonite and ****in DID WORK BOYS! raw bench maybe a bit ****ty from the CG work friday but got up to 455x2 and 480x1 and dropped down and got some reps afterwards. went onwards to dips with 45lb plate and did sets of 10 and did some w/o weight for 15...went onto barbell rows and did sets of 5 and 6 and repped out 315 for 10. the super pullovers kicked ass! try'em out!! tried to see if i could rep the 100s but no go...shoulders were beat up from raw benchin and took it out on front laterals and worked up to 100s for 5 reps. finished off the nite with hammers and rolling extensions and i was out. dropped a bit in bw due to stress but didn't effect my strength any so that's good....tommorrow i'll be hittin legs with trent with the same effect...BUT i was goin thru this session like a train and wearing the tank "what's next" pretty much set the mindset for the session...

what's next indeed!

***this was another ball-buster. trent did well on squat this time around...got up to 405 for 2 sets of 2 with chk greens which is more than what he did when he first squatted with me. awesome work! i got up to 585 and would of doubled it if it wasn't for the assload of sweat on my back that caused the bar to roll on my back cause a dump. we unloaded and reloaded the bar weight back on and took it again with chalk on my back this time and hammered it up for another single though next time i will double it. it was about 715 at the top with 585 plus chk greens. we moved onto speed deads and trucked thru them real fast i think. finished up with leg extensions and hyperextensions...i'm beat up though from yesterdays and tonites session so i'm resting til tuesday and may deload...we'll see...

***tonite did this session in 75 minutes...and man was i ****in feelin it. i did the speed bench the fastest i've done it and i also did CG style too. started with 315 and was too much so put the ego in check and backed it down to 225 and the reps were fast...that's what i wanted. time will come. i believe in my last few sessions with joe i was doin 245 with green and mini but singles and it was 445 at the top whereas today it was 375 at the top...difference is did all 8 sets close-grip. i chatted with drew and it seems the CG theory that they used in the shirt applies raw...though it explains the huge jump in drew's bench...we'll see what it does for me. went onto dips, pulldowns and super pullovers with little rest between sets. did some heavy front laterals since they seem to be helping my bench. worked up to 100s for 5 reps for the 2nd time. felt ****in awesome to be beastin those up on front laterals.

for now, my accessory days will feature speed bench. in light of talkin with casey reece and paul key, we tend to forget speed and after seein those two bench, they have a point. i'll be alternating..next week will be speed benchin with 315 w/o bands CG and the week after green and mini(+200) with probably 225 again. we'll see how this helps. i think that doin CG will improve my lockout and doin speed will make my bench faster. doin sessions in this fashion will get me in even more better condition. casey does his accessory sessions(back, speed bench, shoulders, traps, and arms) in 45min to an hour...

i've known paul for 3 years now and to have trained with him a few times was damn motivatin...even more so after the regionals in march that he did repouts after i did 16 reps with 315...he did 17 and had enough speed to hammer 30..that's what i gotta work on and any ideas on workin the lockouts aside from lockouts?

I like to really hammer the tricep extensors, JM presses, straight bar skull crushers, pressdowns and dumbbell rollbacks

Speed benches will help though as well. When you develop the speed in the shirt, you'll get more momentum to follow through to lockout.

***tonite was a kickass session. first off, veins are startin to pop up all over the place and i'm still holding steady at 320. the stuff from USPLABS and ATLARGE NUTRITION are the ****in bomb!! i heavily recommend them both! anyways, went up to 405 for a triple and felt like i had enough speed to do 10+ reps...it was that easy! then did speed work with 315 for 8 sets of 3. i think casey might be onto something with this. ever since i started doin heavy laterals and reincorporating speed bench back but doin them CG, my bench is movin up. i might have done the warmups CG too...i can't remember but i'm a ****** for doin it...i should of done normal grip. i went onto db floor presses and CS rows and pullups for back. i trained tonite at hoover fitness...great gym...reminded me of the hole in the ground i used to train at when i competed in 99. the session went pretty awesome got'er done though in fairly fast paced. i got asked some ?s on benchin from a serious lifter which i don't mind doin cause they were some good questions. i'll be squattin up there wednesday since their power rack is wide enough for it.
as for the BF situation, i keep gettin leaner and staying 320...i might scare people....

but that's fine by me...lol

right now i'm lookin to the august/sept for my next meet and lookin to break 800 then...we'll see. i'm goin bench only even though i can do all 3 and the reason why i can do all 3 is that i still train the squat and dead even when i'm doin bench only...

***tonite was so a kickass session!! the 405 for reps are dedicated to BAMBAM...a set of 7 and then a set of 3. the speed benchin went very well...i should of gone 250 but will next time. the session was very fast paced...done in 90 minutes. hammers and laterals were ****in easy...and the super pullover are great with the rope. i might be taking another run at puttin together a powerlifting crew here in birmingham(last time!) since i ran into someone that defintely want to compete. best bench was a 355 raw at 148!! sick! so hopefully i can work on gettin a SPF meet here at hoover fitness in the fall...but tonite session was ****in awesome! steve...

***today i decided to take an ME session after weeks of doin speed work CG, i did the reverse band bench with green bands with the normal grip. i had to use the WSB setup so i would get my own liftoffs. PRed and did 605 then dropped down and got reps with 495 and 405. i went back to my "usual" setup with 405 to get some cleaner lifts in. i invented a new bench movements...TB press...it starts out with a db bench with the elbows out and as you press up, bring the elbows in like your doin a db fly. you also have to do it with your feet up too...takes the leg drive out of it. i'm goin to see how these work for a while and see what happens. i'm also goin to take a final try at puttin together a crew of lifters. i'm still goin to go to NGBB..just that training solo ****in sucks when gas is high...lol!! if it doesn't work this time...well...i think we all know what i'll have to do next...i must say that ATLARGE nutrition stuff is ****in awesome on top of stacking it with USPLabs stuff..if you ever get a chance to get both....do it!!

***tonite i trained at the la fitness which wasn't far from the hotel though i think next time after fridays' session, i'll try main event fitness. but i have been busy with classes for my job here in atlanta. speed bench was very fast as it shocked me! i have one set on vid that i will post up when i get back home. 315 with CG was very fast! it was pretty crowded too so i wanted to get out quick...lol! did some hammer strength pulldowns which i loaded it up to 5 plates and a quarter for a set of 8 and it wasn't heavy still! LOL!! my back is gettin damn strong to say the least and moving at a fast pace on these sessions has leaned me out a bit so i'll have to ask casey is this suppose to happen...lol! did some push presses which i wasn't in good form for the first 2 sets but got better with the last two. i'll alternate these in for the next week or so and see what happens. as for the powerlifting crew, i have 5 guys that are interested so the next step would be to find a training grounds...

Good 3 board work chief. Also like how you went to a regular bar on squats after the SSB. Most seem to stick with the SSB the whole session. I'm a big fan of "reminding" your body what's normal, if even for only a few sets.

***today i could wait to bust in and hammer some ****in PRs!! i hate takin time off! yea...i'm ****in 310...so what? my strength didn't suffer so i happy about that. ***today was another ****ty session. Had I taken a spot with 545 I would of gotten it for a double for sure but enough of the "would of; could of's". So I did some reps with 405 for punishment to myself…did speed deads but some of those reps went a bit slow. Might be time for a deload already. ***tonite was one ****in kickass session. me and WM(trent) mauled thru the ****in gym tonite like monsters. we started on the speed bench where i did 225 and he did 135 but the 135 was waay too easy for him and will up it to 225 next time. WM is a lot stronger than he gives himself credit for. after speed bench w/ bands, we did repouts...WM did 225 for 20 reps and i did 315 for 14 and then got pissed and did 10 more since i didn't get 18 at least. the rest of the session was a typical deload but it was ****in intense and we were doin some insane **** as well...i ****in love it. i think both of us bein at that meet saturday got us fired up. WM is goin to be a beast quickly and that's goin to help me push a lot harder...have to if i plan on makin 800 my bitch....but mark my ****in words...i will do 315 for 20 before august is out...me and WM will have to do some insane **** but that's the norm here right...

***decided on a low volume week here to see what happens to my body but it felt damn good today! after chattin with nick winters online, it got me fired up some for ****in benchin today! the pec feels fine as well too. i hammered the **** out of 455 for a triple and then did the same with 500 for a double and hit the wall with 525 for a double. trent(WM) kicked ass today too. startin to utilize his leg drive and lats alot more too! he did a single with 365 and doubled 345. once he gets the tech down, he'll start hammering up into the 405s...he's promised me that...lol!!! but needless to say after hammering 500 for a double, trent got fired up after missin 365 earlier in the session and hammering 345 for a double and 365 for a single.....the fire and intensity were out today for sure...

i thought about what you said and yea that could be the ticket when i do full range is why ken wanted me to go full range with first. i guess i could be crying wolf a bit soon but....

As for the shirt, that does look pretty jacked. I don't think you'll feel the grid stitch really until you go lower than say a 2brd. Just try and drop it down quickly

The only thing I could see is maybe getting the neck reinforced? I'm not as well versed with Titan's options on customizing as I am with Inzer. I do know that I get a ton of pop out of my shirt at the bottom because of that huge beefy collar haha.

***man this was an awesome ****in session! finally healed up it seems like! 405 for 2 on warmups felt damn easy and so did the band work. i'll up it to 225 next time since i was bein "easy" with 185. 315 for 18 is the norm after speed work but 405 for 2 wasn't! i could of done five...so i'm very excited about this. went thru the rest of the session at the usual "fast" speed and after grip work, wanted to puke....again! lol!! i'm very pleased with the speed of my reps now and need to keep this up. moving the bar fast is important...and the sport is changing to a point now that conditioning and speed are important just as much as gettin stronger is.

on a side note, there were 2 douchebags at the gym today. one asked (after settin up the bands and bench in the rack) if i was squattin! because i was focused on training, a "no" is what i replied back. energy is better suited to doin my job in the gym than talkin **** to normals that don't understand. before that, the other one asked:

douchebag 1: "are you a correctional officer?"
me: "no"
douchebag 1: "so your huge for no reason?"
me: "yea"

again...when i'm in BRUTE mode, not much thinkin went on and i'm too focused on training to deal with douchbags. so i continued on with my session. what the hell goes thru these ****s minds. i can easily eat both these ****s if i wanted to...lol!! that's how small they were! though i do feel another t-shirt coming on...

Try 725 maybe. Might be more manageable for you when you're really trying to touch than 750. Whats your best bench? 705 right? So you need to be able to open up somewhere around 700 at your next meet. You don't want to open with something you've never benched before.

thanx bro but my best bench is 760 so handling 750 wasn't a problem it was actually within range of bein reasonable to work with today. ken is goin to send me a single-ply katana but i just know from bein in shirts before that this one i'm goin to have a lot of issue tryin to get it to work. i took a vid of the bench and i learned to "row" the weight down when i was at NGBB. though i might have forgotten to make sure that my elbow were in instead of out. i'm not sendin back the shirt btw...so i'll have it for another week and see what happens.

i spoke with ken and apparently a 2ply katana is like 3 layers of material and harder to learn...hence why a lot of lifters are wearin the single-ply katana its more equivalent to your 2-ply stuff now. the other thing is that i was think the same thing that if just blew up, no prob i would work in it. that's what i was lookin for in this shirt and it hasn't happen. everything i've had i've had to fight to lockout which alarmed me a few weeks ago. also something else happened tonite...the groove in the katana is waay different than a rage x or f6 but using a single-ply version of it might be easier to learn.

please bro...input is always wanted that's why i put up this log. sorry for the last reply, but you did knock off about 55lbs off my bench there...LOL!!

Are you touching low enough maybe? Sounds like you haven't found the shirt groove. I know in my shirt if I touch too high I get absolutly nothing out of it. No pop, nuthin.

A single ply might be a good idea. I believe its two layers laminated together so techincally its a double ply. I remember the guys who did bring double Katana's to Westside had a really difficult time getting used to them

This one should be pretty close to broken in. He's used it several times now, I think its more that the shirt is essentially a triple ply shirt

the groove on a katana is higher than a rage x for sure but by goin to a single-ply katana, it should make learning that groove a lot easier.

keep in mind when i went to a 3-board, it hovered! doin a 1-board in that shirt wouldn't even touch. ken said something about the bubble bein smaller in a 2ply than in any other shirt out there hence the issues lifters are havin with that shirt..its good for board work, i'll tell ya that much! lol!

***another session where i was a bit pissed. my partner was a no show and got up early because of that...that **** ain't happenin again. started out doin 2 sets of 5 with 405 and a set of 5 with 415 to best freak's 405x3 and 410x3 done previously! then did some CG benchin and ended up with 14 reps with 275. continued with my new favorite movement, seated CS rows. did blitz method with 6 plates and 8 plates and said i wasn't ****in done! did 10 plates for 5 reps and 12 plates for 3! did some pullups to finish up the back. did some heavy laterals(haven't done in 2 months) and worked up to 110s for 5 reps i think. finished with some laterals and went to some lying hammers with 120 on the stack for 3 sets of 10. finished up with some barbell shrugs and did my last set with 705 for 15 reps. i got all of this session on vid and ALN are goin to put it together in one vid so it will be a few days and will throw up vids from the other day up on the forum and on the site too. they are soo huge it takes forever to pull them onto youtube...lol

oh and on a side note, ran into another powerlifter at my gym, 6-0, 265 at 47 yrs old. did some rack pull with 730 and made it look easy. lookin to hookup with some serious lifters since he wants help in his shirt. talked for a bit and share this with me...thought i would get a laugh out of it and i did...

i might be holding tryouts for our team soon too...

***tonite was a much needed session..2yrs in the makin! it started out with me and freak tryin to "out-pause" one another on warmups with 315. i knew it was goin to be an awesome session from there. mason did awesome and did a 385 CG 3-board. once he get used to the shirt he's using, he'll be able to hammer 405 on CGs no prob! freak did a ****in 615 CG 3-board in not only a loose shirt but first time in a shirt since a year ago! badass! the 585 and 600 were grinders but that 615 was in the perfect groove for sure! i know when he gets that katana tightened up, it will be smoke show on the way to 700! i PRed and did 745 which was smoke show! went up to 795 CG and almost had it goin twice. it will be soon when i hit this CG! 800 is ****in close and the speed/raw work is paying off for both me and freak! we finished up with some suicides, pullups and grip work! i couldn't believe the amount of intensity that was here tonite. i ****in love it and not to mention that i lost a callous or two after grip work! this is why i ****in wanted to be training with freak again...and mason really show us what he made the **** out of! not to mention it was his idea to push freak's hummer, but then again me and freak didn't need much convincing since we saw 242 RAW dvd and saw jeremy hoornstra push a SUV. so we proceded to push freak's hummer 3 times each. it was ****in awesome! can't wait for the next one...here are some pics and vids from tonite...

***tonite was just me and freak and another kickass session!! we had a bit of a hairy situation with freak's "mock" monolift. the lever that releases is a bar that is across the back and it has to be pulled down in order to release. PROBLEM...my wide grip won't allow that so freak had to press the bar down while i'm squattin so i can squat. and i thought the problem was not havin enough light. LOL!! anyways, me and jon hammered up some PRs on squats with dbl greens. jon did 345 which was an all-time best from when he did 305 and that was with his canvas/suit/wraps! TONITE, he only used a loose dual-quad suit and wraps! i'm real proud of him on that! i remember him havin back issue and it seems that its waay better than before. i did 405 for 1 rep raw with just belt only which is over 700 at the top. it was a grinder but got it up with good form! then we finished up with speed deads. we were moving like machines during those. unfortunately, no vids because there were little light and it was comin from jon's car(yea, without the car's lights on, we would be training in the dark!) but we were able to see how we squat and jon squats simliar to sam byrd. all his lifts tonite were damn strong! after this session we went to a japanese steakhouse and eat up some great food there(where jon thinks i "inhaled" the food there and i think he inhaled the cola there! LOL!!). i chilled out his place talkin about 9/11 and headed back...the pic explains tonites session...

***today me and freak did some accessory work at my gym today. it was great! we had a good change of pace today and we did some grip work today as well. i'm gettin better at it for sure and there is a technique to it no doubt. jon weighed in at 241 and i at 329. so we kicked ass today. we did snatches for the first time and we'll be doin them more and more often to get used to doin them. i got vids and will throw them up later today or so.

***tonite was first time back in any kind of briefs in 2 years. went up to 785 and had issues with the free spotter and the bar bending really bad causing it not to undo the latch itself when i squatted it up. when i tried to it stopped me from doin the ****in weight causing the bar to still be unreleased from the free spotter. you can ask jon and mason, i was pretty pissed and both wanted me to do this weight and so did i! 735 was really strong...and it was done in loose briefs too. OH WELL...cry me a ****in river right? jon did 605 and did 675 high but does have the potential for a 900 squat since he did those in the loose dual-quad he used last week. we are now on the hunt for a 1500lb bar...

i'll just get stronger...

***tonite was a kickass session for both me and jon. tried on the new katana and the good news is that it feels just like my rage x as far as it sits and how it puts on! addin the scoop neck was a good idea. anyhow, PRed and did 655 for 2 and 695 for 2!!. jon "would think" he had an off day. he worked up to a rough single with 605 BUT the shirt sleeves were too loose. went back into his old F6 and weights were moving a lot faster! dropped down to 455 and went up to 515 for 2 sets of 2 to work on dropping the bar fast. jon has two shirts that are loose either in the chest or triceps but the rage x he has just needs to have the sleeves stretched out and that will be his magic shirt for sure. still impressive **** from him...everything he has done thus far has been in loose shirts! can't ****in wait til he gets into a correct fitting shirt. after benching we went onto CG 2-boards repouts raw to work on speed and dropping the bar faster. i did 18 and jon did 10 so its a start. after that we ate and watch "heroes" from the other nite that we both missed and bent some nails. jon did about 62 nails and i did 30 my first time AFTER bendin one the first time. if you saw the vid of me and jon bending nails, we were bending those for 2 hours tonite during "heroes". i've got vids of the board work and a pic of the 20lb of nails we bended too...as well as some pics of the APT banner that hangs up in jon's garage(pics will be up tomorrow!)we also got a new bar and 2 100lb plates(hence the attempts!) due to last weeks squat session. anyone out in the t-town or bham area, are more than welcome to stop in...keep in mind...your first session there...

***today was a kickass session. jon made a HUGE PR...did 315 with the same tension with his leviathan suit straps down. he did 295 before with the straps up!! HUGE PR! i worked up to an easy 425 for 1 with the same tensions with the HC straps down. smoked it!! keep in mind, we didn't wear any briefs!! so we have a ton of strength to build from. did some quick speed deads and called it a session. we finally got some light in the garage so night sessions won't be an issue anymore. me and jon are hittin a deload week next week to recover and prepare for the punishment that lies ahead...

***tonite was a great speed session with jon. he still had bouts of bicep tendonitis but know what he needs to do to fix it. the speed work went well...the was movin fast on both of us but we can be faster...never enough right? i also modified my setup some too and it workin a lot more so good thing we got vids so that i can see it more. after that we did some repouts with 315...i did 22 which was a PR and jon did 12 but can do 15 or more w/o the bicep tendonitis issue. did some light accessory stuff like pullups and band hammers. i did do 16 reps total on pullups which is another PR for me on those on a possible 330ish bodyweight...lol!! and jon did 18 reps which was a PR for him as well. keep an eye out in this log guys...me and jon are only goin to get stronger...

***tonite was a deload on the squats. worked up to an easy 525 for 5 w/ belt only on box squats and jon did 425 for 5 w/ belt only reps and we worked on speed(or more less what it turned out to being) on front box squats(no belt). it got to a point where me and jon were tryin to see who can do 5 reps the quickest. he did 5 reps of the same weight in 4.75 secs and i did the same weight for 5 reps for 5 secs. don't ask why we did that but we did because we could!! LOL!! vids will be up tommorrow though warning no music(mostly cause steve stole what i was goin to use...****er!) this time but there are some shenigans...lol!

****today was a fun session w/o the cleans...LOL!! did some high rep **** with 130s. i did 24 and jon did 17 before me. moved onto hammer pulldowns and went up to 5 plates per side, then finished up with super pullovers and pullups. went to rolling extensions as we were waiting on a power rack(oh yea...we were at a gym today..LOL!!). then we supersetted rack lockouts with hammers for fun really. did some rear delt work and called it a day. did some nail bending later where i was really humbled. attempted a grade 5 nail which was too much for me but then the 60 penny nails were giving me trouble. a little strength and push from my brother and got my head into it and owned the 60 penny nails and anything else BUT the grade 5s. i didn't feel too bad because i know i could bend them...i was doin them the right way but it wasn't to be. next time...i will own those ****ers! jon bent 5 of those grade 5 nails..nail bending really ****s with your head if you let it and really brings out the intensity too. your probably asking yourself why bend nails right? well let me tell ya.....today's accessory session was done without WRAPS OR STRAPS AT ALL!! didn't even think about it to tell ya the truth...it just happened. nail bending in short helps with squeezing the bar easier and mentally makes you tough. gettin under 700+ doesn't sound too hard anymore...LOL!! jon's mental strength came from doin this and i believe him...so give it a try...we got 3 guys comin to train with us on today so i'm lookin foward to that as well..

***tonite was so a ****in awesome session!! we had a total of 5 guys in and ready to bench tonite which was awesome. trent and eric joined us along with mason for some shirted benchin. in short, i went 495 for 2 and missed 585(which was close!), jon went 405 for 2 and missed 455, trent(275) went 365 for a single, eric(198) went 275 and mason went 185. all were done close-grip and off 3-boards. jon and mason were wearing "loose-shirts" but wanted more so i understood that. got a chance to slap the **** out of mason for one of his attempts(not too hard though) hopin it would lite a fire under him to get 225. he will...jon wanted 455 if not 500 but he has another shirt comin that could change that in a week or so. it should be awesome! trent and eric were really impressive. trent went and literally manhandled 365!! eric was more on learning the shirt but was almost able to close the #3 grippers first time and got up to bendin what me and jon were bendin the other nite. mason came back and went two rounds on suicides and almost gettin 5s across the boards...next time we'll have to up his bar weight. we did pullups and this is how it went. mason did 11, trent did 6(3 more than he thought he did and no help!), eric did 27!, jon did 27, and i did 21! needless to say, eric hammering the pullups was impressive! not only that went and did 30 more after that too! we got a ****load of potential and not to mention the combination of intensity and insanity...squat day is up on thursday and we'll see how intense and insane we can get...again, everyone did awesome tonite and we can only get stronger from here...

***tonite it was me, jon and mason squattin. mason did some strong squattin tonite...maybe be a bit hammered from the other day mentally but manned up and got 605 which was awesome. jon ended up with a 745 which was strong and i WANTED 800!! it was the first step on the road to 1000 squat. the weights didn't feel heavy to neither one of us tonite which was the band work we did last week. this was my 2nd session in squat gear and to be 30lbs under my meet PR(FULL GEAR--STRAPS AND WRAPS UP!) this was awesome and keep in mind, i'm not wearing any briefs and neither is jon!! i think once we get our hands on some briefs and a good suit straps down, we'll be gettin more plates just for us!! we did some speed deads with our gear still on which was new but something we'll keep with though. after that, me and jon went huntin for some ribs(no thanx to mason for talkin about it!!LOL!!) and it took us a while but we were persistent and vigilant in our search for ribs at 15 til 10pm at nite but we found some and boy were they awesome...LETS SEE IF the ribs can put some weight on our lifts...eric and trent had other priorites tonite to deal with but will be with us next wednesday and trent has already gotten to work on some nails himself...

**tonite was a ****in awesome session. i had this session brewing in my mind and serious rage goin thru my ****in veins! freak(jon) dida 655 3-board which was a PR from him. trent did a easy 515 off 3-board...missed 605 and ALMOST locked out 610! WTF right?! eric did 425 off 3-board...it was PRs across the board. i got a little shaky with 695 but straigtened it out with 785 real easy and smashed 835 which is a 25lb PR!! we did repouts afterwards. trent did 225 for 11 reps, eric did 12 reps with 225, jon did 12 reps with 335 and i did 18 with 335 so no one slacked up for sure tonite and we were totally kickin ass. eric had some issues tonite but his setup is comin together, his next bench session is goin to shock everyone!! trent and eric both have 600lb benches in their minds...****in love it! after eating dinner and resting, me and jon attacked some nails. i finally bent that grade 5 **** that owned me last week with no problem! jon got the grade 8 easy. here's the funny ****, he hands me a grade 8 while he takes on the 5/16th nail which was a thick SOB! we both try to hammer these nails for about 15 minutes to no avail. then come later, jon realized that the grade 8 i was trying to bend was not a grade 8, IT WAS a 5/16th as well...****! i told him that ****er was thick!! LOL!! well needless to say i kept on bendin the lighter stuff since i burned myself on the 5/16th. but tonite, i bent 2 grade 5s. next time i hope to bend more grade 5s. this nail bendin does help the confidence a ton! tonite, 835 didn't feel heavy and when jon attempted 705 and almost pressed it the 2nd time, it didn't feel heavy to him as well...so there is a method to our insanity...defintely lookin foward to saturday...squattin with bands are goin to be ****in fun!!

***tonite i just had to get some weight in my !@#$in hands cause with all the benchin issues as of late, i was about to go insane. did some reverse bands and worked up to a PR of 765 for 3(at the bottom was 565). the weight didn't feel heavy to my surprise. maybe it was the pslin, powerfull, and perfect carb i was on before i lifted. then a !@#$in hairy human being that called himself a lifter came up to me and told me i was using too much weight on the bar and can't do that. i think i was about to snap his ass in two. no !@#$in wonder people in this city have low !@#$in standards and prefer to be normal. my god! sorry. well i had to back the weight down for a set of 675 for 5 and then took off the lights and used just the minis and did 405 for 12, 500 for 5 and 500 for 3. somewhere in there i kindly asked a skinny douchebag to help me hold the bar in place. i might as well be speakin a different !@#$in language cause he didn't understand and he said he was with a "client". i so wanted to break his ass as well! anyways, i did some ICG presses which is a combination of jm press/close-grip bench. this was awesome. not many movements can pre-exhaust my strong-ass triceps. awesome !@#$. moved onto dips and pushdowns and shoulders and was done. did 120s for 2 sets of 5. i think i might have scared a few people when i did those. oh well, tommorrow is dead day...oh and i almost forgot...when i did the 765 i was goin for the 4th rep when the plates fell off. awesome !@#$!

WTF! moved onto supersetting leg curls and leg extensions. i have a friend who is 330 and legs would ****in dwarf mine and would own me on squats no prob. he recommended me doin these to help my squat so i'm doin them. i have the strength to do 1000. the **** is there. anyways moved onto back and did an assload of sets. doin the hypergrowth program to put some size on. did pullups for 4 sets of 10 and then 2 sets of 4. did pulldowns with 210 for 4 sets of 10 and seated rows with 210 for 4 sets of 10. finished up with biceps and abs and was done.
