Haven't posted photos in this section in a while...so some updates. Just finished my second bottle of Results. I went from 172-186ish. For full disclosure, I was 187 in 2005 when I started cutting for my show. Since then I had been sitting around mid-170's for the most part. Pulled some lower back muscles about a year ago deadlifting, and it keeps flaring up, so I haven't concentrated on deads or squats in about a year. Starting the TNT diet for the summer. Then back to bulking in the fall.

Man, your wing span is really nice- especially striking in the front pic. For all your back trouble, I's my favorite feature on you.

Oh, and is that a Nike gym bag?

You look great bro. I messed up my glute/ham doing deads and I havent been able to do them for atleast 6 months, and I've had to do very light squats as well. I know how you feel. Whats the TNT diet?

you don't need to cut, you need to keep bulking. there's nothing wrong with your bodyfat..

i agree. you look good cp, despite all the back problems you've been having. why don't you keep bulking, bro? i'd like to see you hit 200 or so.

Mike: Thanks. It's actually a PUMA bag, and a piece of crap.

Kev: Thanks man.

GF: Thanks! Too kind as always.

Jay: I miss deads and squats, but just trying to get 100% TNT diet is basically low carb with refeeds.

RBB and Jake: I know there are a lot on the board that want me to keep bulking. I'm not looking to cut. I really just want to maintain for the next few months, and then go back to bulking in the fall.

Lookin' good bud... Jealous of the arms and shoulders as always. I like your idea of maintaining for a bit and continuing with the bulk in a few months... Gives you a bit of time to pack on more LBM to make you more comfortable with blowing up over the fall. Pretty much what I'm doing this summer, also.

You look great. I say keep bulking.

I still don't see how you have a 36in waist. I'm at about 38 or so, and I'm a whale compared to you.

OR, you could recomp for 3-4 weeks dropping bodyfat and gaining about 1lb LBM, then once bodyfat is where you want it, go back to bulking..

??? :D

Mik

BoB: Thanks man. I'll trade everything for your bench.

Killswitch and Mik: thanks guys.

RBB and Jake: that is the concept behind the TNT diet. Low carbs during the week, and refeeds on the weekend.

Bill: I'll get there next fall/winter. Content where I am for now.

BJ: Just put the tape measure on it, and it's currently 35.5 It's swollen from eating. I know the big guys will tell me to suck it up.

Ederon: thanks dude. You getting back on stage anytime soon?

Jordan: thanks. always been the one thing I had going for me.

Nosaj: thanks man.

I'll probably try to keep this as a little picture journal while I try this TNT diet. Maybe I'll update it every 4 weeks or so as I start to progress. So far, so good. Weight has remained exactly constant in the the last 2 weeks, but seemed a bit leaned out.

Didn't really post a leg shot, so here.

Ryuage wannabe! :P Looking good, you squat pretty heavy if I remember correctly. Do you squat in hypertrophy range out of curiosity or more for strength?

Coke

Damn bro, legs are getting quite muscular these days.

cphafner
05-22-2008, 09:04 PM
Nosaj: Thanks dude. I actually have really done squats or deads in about a year. Nagging back injury from deads. Mainly just light high rep leg presses, extensions, and curls.

Coke: thanks man. I think them being lean is a big deceiving. I can promise they are smaller than they look.

Week 4 updates:
Just finish week 4 of the TNT diet plan E. Scale had dropped a few lbs as of Friday, but I was at the end of a 5 day low carb run. For the most part the scale has remained steady. Fat seems to be slowly dropping, muscle mass seems to be preserved. Strength has been steady. These were taken last night after a bit of refeeding, also a couple hours of tanning.

Jordanbcool
06-08-2008, 11:57 AM
You're def. leaner. You should tan though! lol

Chris: thanks man. The waist is tightening up nicely.

GF: You're always too kind, make me blush!

Mike: Work out? Never.

Rbb: Trade my leanness for your size!

Brian: Thanks dude. Always appreciate the support.

Lion: Thanks. In the bbing world, relaxed is actually flexed. On stage your "relaxed" poses are basically flexed w/o looking flexed. You're never really relaxed on stage.

Chubs: yes sir

You look good C! Significantly leaner in the last set of pics in my opinion.

By the way, I eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's just prior to bed every night and eat whatever I want for dinner and look just as lean. :evillaugh:

One update photo. Been about a month since my last photos. Sorry for the pretty boy photo. I put some "mandatory" poses in my journal last week. Still following the TNT diet. Weight was remained pretty much unchanged. Fat is still slowing dropping even though I hardly do any cardio. I might get in 1 or 2 20-30 min cardio sessions in a week. Waist is getting real small again. 32 inch waists are hanging off me right now. Strength is still getting better. My lower back issues have gone away, so deads, rack pulls, squats, etc. are being added back into the mix. I'll probably follow this diet for another month and a half and then start bulking back up in September.

Ryuge: If I put that picture on myspace my buddies would give me hell! Thanks a lot bud.

Chris: Thanks a lot. Trying to hold it down for the few bbers left on the board! This winter I hope to put on some mass (15-20 lbs) and possibly make another run at a natural show next fall. I'm sure ALN will remain a staple in my diet.

Sylvia: Always too kind! Thanks!

BJ: Thanks man.

Jake: Gonna stick with what I'm doing for another month or so up until my brother's wedding. Come September I'll go back into bulk mode. Been reviewing some stuff on DC training. I've been doing primarily hight volume stuff recently, so some low volume stuff with plenty of calories could yield interesting results. This is all assuming my back holds up.

WBB: Thanks dude.

So I've decided to stop my "summer diet". I feel like I'm plenty lean, especially considering I very little cardio. I'm tired of eating super clean. The scale has dropped too much during the last couple of weeks. Time to fill back out for the winter. I think the basics of the TNT diet were very simple to follow. Here is where I ended up. I'm 175 right now.

Definatly lookin lean man! Good work!

If you can lean up that easily, you really could do a show without much work. Dieting is the hard part, along with getting the posing routine down pat

Thanks Travis. I competed once back in 2005. I did a 9 week prep that was a bit rushed. If I did it again I would do a longer and slower cut, something like 16 weeks, but I have much size I would have to gain before competing again. The rest of the guys on stage were much shorter than me and owned me on sheer size.
