blah blah blah 18-0 with a BS loss in the superbowl along with 3 out of 4 years with rings. It just feels good to have this cheating **** put to rest and everyone humbled about how they are only good because they cheated....which they DIDN'T. And Goodell is a humble idiot apologizing left and right.

WELL SAID!
"For the past three-and-a-half months, we have been defending ourselves against assumptions made based on an unsubstantiated report rather than on facts or evidence," said the statement. "Despite our adamant denials, the report ran on February 2, 2008, the day before Super Bowl XLII.

"That game was the second-most watched program in television history and it is unfortunate that today’s news will not also reach an audience of that size.

More properly referred to as a choke...I was living in Boston when they choked in the AFC championship, it was fantastic

What the Walsh thing did was expose the fact that the Patriots attempts to cheat wasn't just a passing or minor idea. These guys invested a lot of time, thought and resources in getting every advantage.
So, I dunno if you consider it cheating, strictly speaking, but personally, whether it's cheating or not, it's obvious that the Patriots weren't happy just to line up and match wits & skills against their opponents on a level playing field.

This is insignicant now that they did not have a perfect season.

Are you saying they didn't cheat? 18-1 means nothing when that one was the game that mattered. 3 out of 4 is very impressive, but living in the past isn't. 0-2 the last two years. The cheating **** isn't put to rest, since Bill looks like a straight up liar now. When they were first caught, he said it was a misunderstanding of the rule, now Walsh is saying he was told to be careful and not get caught when taping.

Cirino, what are you going to do when the Celtics get knocked out and the Sox lose the penant to the Rays?

I find it absolutely hilarious some patriot fans seem convinced they got "scammed" out of a SB. If you watched the rest of the Patriots games objectively, you'd see time and time again the refs blatantly helped the pats out. Ravens game for example, the Patriots lost that game 3 or 4 times, but magically a flag popped up right after each of the plays at the end?

The pats got the calls all year long, and when a crew called the game fair they cry foul.

If you want to blame it on anything blame it on the oline, the whole nation watched as the Giants front 4 demolished the pats upfront every snap in the 2nd half.

**** the Patriots*. They choked it away to the Colts in 06, and choked away again to the Giants in 07, and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving bunch of dickheads.

I cannot stand the patriots. Arrogant bunch of *******s. Fans already wearing 19-0 shirts days before the superbowl. Nothing helped fill the void of the packers losing in the conference finals more so than watching these jerkasses fail when it counted most.

I disagree. I too hate the Pats, but watching the Pack lose in that game was sooo disheartening. Nothing could've really made me feel better. We should've been playing them in the SB... But sorry, that's hijacking the thread..

**** THE PATS, RED SOX, CELTICS, BRUINS, BC EAGLES, HARVARD, THAT STUPID ACCENT, AND EVERYTHING ELSE TO DO WITH BAHSTON!!!

Just so you know, trying to figure out opposing teams hand signals is not new to football and not exclusive to the patriots. It happens all the time in all levels of football.

Trying to figure out what questions your teacher will ask on an exam isn't cheating either, UNTIL YOU GO AND TRY TO STEAL THEM!

Not singling you out necessarily but just curious as to how the Patriots players themselves are arrogant? Brady and company are the most humble bunch of players you will find. Put any other team in their situation and see if they can stay humble too. The hate comes from the fact that they are always a dominant team since bledsoe went down. I don't like the spurs or Detroit...why for the same reason so I can understand a little.

I agree Boston fans are a bit extreme...but then again look at the moronic cheesehead fans or the raiders. If Boston the only city that would have had 19-0 shirts printed ahead of time? I doubt it.

Don't be so damn bitter because without Favre, the Packers have 0 chance of anything for the next 5 years at least. :hello:

They felt bad. They want to let other teams have a chance to win a superbowl occasionally. Peyton deserves a ring.....Eli deserves to have his tampon changed.

Once again how are the Pats players dickheads? lol

No they did not cheat, otherwise more penalties may have been added not dismissed and apologies handed out?

If the Celts can't win on the road they lose to Detroit, and the Sox...well I'm not in baseball mode yet so I'll get back to you.

Where to begin?

- Rodney "HGH" Harrison is the dirtiest player in the game, as voted by his NFL peers
- Tom Brady hides it well, but his arrogance showed when he said Plaxico Burress needed to "give them a little credit" when Plax predicted the score. If I remember correctly, Plax actually overestimated the Patriots' abilities. He's really not that bad though.
- Richard Seymour is a loud mouthed, overrated sucker and a dirty player. Google "head stomp Tarik Glenn" if you don't know what I'm talking about.
- Vince Wilfork is nearly as dirty as Harrison. Actually this year he was probably dirtier.
- Randy Moss said all the right things and played lights out (if you call pushing off right before every reception "lights out"), but it'll take more than one season of good behavior for him to lose the reputation of selfish, whining quitter.
- Wes Welker is a walking piece of ****, I can't stand that little loudmouthed punk.
- Ellis Hobbs: see Wes Welker comments above.
- And I wasn't just referring to the Patriots. I meant Bill Belichick first and foremost. He is king dickhead.

edit: but since you're being pretty cool about everyone attacking your team (that's rare in a Patsie fan), I'll admit I might go over the top with my Pats hate. I'm a Colts fan, what do you expect? :D

Well, that's true. I tend to doubt that the entire team was involved in the espionage type stuff. It's kindof a shame that some of their accomplishments will have this shadow over them.

...ah who am I kidding, I'll jump off the Tobin.

If you are talking about taping the Rams walk through, different story. If you're talking about taping hand signals, then that's cheating. They admitted to everything Walsh had, so there's no point in more punishment and where are all of the apologies? I haven't heard Goodell apologize for anything. The one Boston paper apologized, but they should for printing a story without real proof.

Luckily for the Celts, they don't have to win on the road, but I'm not liking the way Allen has disappeared. Garnett isn't the guy to carry them and Pierce is going to have a hard time with Prince guarding him.

Not a baseball guy, but I hate the Yankees, so I hope the Sox wake up and the Yankees miss the playoffs. The play by Manny the other night was wicked (that's a Boston word, right).

Lastly, the Patriots are one of the most humble teams in the NFL. Everyone who goes there keeps their mouth shut and plays. Harrison, Dillon, Moss. They may not be the cleanest team, but they don't run their mouths and they don't show up their opponents.

Cirino, you're fun to bust on, but you are right about them being a humble team.

I don't understand how they choked. They were outplayed. The Giants had the recipe to exploit the Pats weakness'. Saying they choked is basically saying the Giants didn't win, which is crappy.

oh, im taking no props away from the Giants at all, they played their asses off, and beat down the patriots and im sure you wouldnt have found a happier non-giants fan than me behind the victory cause i hate the PATS even before all the super bowl wins

but

to get that far and to lose on the biggest stage

its a Choke

u beat everyone else handily, come out the the biggest stage where ur supposed to have ur biggest game and get ur ass handed to you on a tray and that tray is bent

choke

much props to the giants for coming out and kicking ass and winning that game
