Optimum Nutitrition is the only protein powders I buy...they're really tasty and affordable.

:withstupi:

if Nitrean were made in a bag and priced the same as ON, I would buy Nitrean instead. $52.96 for 4.6lbs of Nitrean vs $89.99 for 10lbs of ON (locally) just won't work for me.. :(

Thats got to be a typo. Even when protein used to be cheap, it was still $50 for 10 lbs.

Personally, I just go into GNC and buy out all the expired stuff. This month I got 8 lbs of random stuff for $30.

$52.96 for a tub of Nitrean? Did the price just go up again?

Nitrean 4.6 lbs - $52.95

I guess so..

77 servings didn't sound like 10lbs.. lol.. I think it's 180ish servings for 10lbs..

ON is great. i use that for daily protein needs and muscle milk as an MRP for breakfast usually.

Pretty much has been the only protein I buy for the last 7 years. Experimented with AST stuff for a bit, but was too pricey. Living in PA and using DPS, can get supps in like a day too, which is nice.

Optimum Nutrition makes a fine protein. It's a good middle ground as far as quality, flavor, and price.

Mixed proteins are much better than straight whey. You get what you pay for. Add some Optimum casein and egg to your gold standard whey and Nitrean will look like a bargain.

Or eat some eggs and mix it with some milk?

ON is good stuff. The only thing I've stuck with since I've started lifting.

Optimum nutrition is a good choice for whey.. other than ALN if you're just looking for a straight way supplement or don't like a flavor aln has to offer.. ON is solid. Tastes pretty good except for the holiday flavors..that eggnog was like drinking ****.. if i could imagine what **** tastes like. It is only whey though. For about the same price, ALN offers NITREAN which I see has already been suggested. IMHO it tastes just as good but it's a BLENDED protien which usually costs tens of dollars more than a whey product. It's got egg, whey, and casein for roughly what you pay for straight whey which means you're always getting protien delivered into your system for extended periods of time.

Nothing wrong with ON though that's for sure...

just posted this in the other thread about ON thought it might be of use to some people

fyi, Amazon has ON Gold Standard 100% Whey for 45 bucks w/ free shipping.
ALSO, if you "subscribe" to ordering the ON Whey every month or every other month (whatever interval you like) they give an additional 15% off

so basically I get a 5lb tub of ON Gold Standard Whey for $38 per month shipped automatically every 2 months. Pretty sweet and I don't have to keep remembering to order. You can cancel at any time as well.
