A quick question lads. I take my 5 grammes of Creatine first thing in the morning with a protein shake. Then, when i get to work, about 45 minutes later i have a coffee before tucking into breakfast.
Thing is, someone told me that if you take Caffeine any time soon after taking the Creatine, then the Creatine is not absorbed as well.
Any comments guys?

its not good to have caffine with cretine, it has something to do with the hydration, but you should be alright, just drink lots of water. you shouldnt be affected at all really, they mostly are lies.

I made a post about this exact thing about two days ago but got no replies. Basically what I read was that somoene initially conducted research to prove that caffine and creatine would benefit eachother. Apparently the researcher found out that caffine somehow reduces the effect of creatine, something along the lines of the water in your body?. Whether or not its true I have no idea.. but I'm a caffine nut I can drink 5 cups easily throughout a day.

Take your creatine right before bed, problem solved. Caffeine is a diuretic and creatine deals with water absorption so I guess it fits, but I really doubt it really makes any difference.

True enough, i've still been seeing big results while drinking ocffee and taking creatine. I only find it interesting because i've never actually compared to difference personally to caffine and no caffine. Yet if it were true I would stop drinking coffee if it meant the bigger bang for my buck.

Its fine to take caffeine and creatine together, I know lots of people who do it successfully. With creatine monohydrate you do risk a higher incidence of cramps due to caffeine being a diuretic as someone stated before, but this has no effect on its ability to be metabolized into ATP.

yeah the monohydrate requires you to drink a LOT of water, and caffine, having no nutritional value; and has sugar; which will will absorb the water leaving you dehydrated. if you drink enough water on your creatine you will be absolutely fine. i was on anavol for a while it didnt require much water and i had more results from that rather than monohydrate. but its still worth the money

Unless you drink a bucketful of coffee it won't dehydrate you that much.

it also depends on you metabolism. a lot of factors come into play with hydration and creatine.
