View Full Version : Need Help Identifying Muscles & Functions of olympic lifts?!

Hey there, peeps... I'm currently working on an assessment that I'm struggling with, I've got one section left that requires me to name the muscles used in various lifts, their functions (agonist, antagonist, synergist, stabilizer, dynamic stabilizer or target) and their contraction (concentric/eccentric/isometric) during both lifting and lowering phases. Can you please help me out? I'm struggling at the moment and this SOB is due tomorrow. Already completed is explaining the lift, progressions, difficulty, safety points/cues and risk of injury. What's left is the anatomical analysis pretty much.

The lifts are;

- Jump shrugs
- Hang pull
- High pull
- Hang clean
- Power clean
- Front squat
- Hang snatch
- Power snatch
- Overhead squat

Thanks a lot for anyone willing to help, it is much appreciated.

Take a look at ExRx.net - link is in my sig.. go to the Exercise Instruction pages
They have a break down of most of the OL's and regular lifting exercises... with muscles used, dynamic or static, etc...
