First time back in my canvas in months. It went way better than expected. I doubled 50 lbs more than what I hit at the meet 5 weeks ago.

do you usually bring down the weight that slow? i think that would kill me, not to mention the crazy high weight...oh, and do you ever get pain on your hip flexors when you go low on squats?

Wow nice squatting! You went really deep there. What is your raw totals and do you have videos of that?

When I squat in full gear I descend very slowly. It's much eaier for me to keep my form that way. I'd probably do a face plant if I tried to go down fast. In the gear it doesn't really bother me. Of course, when wearing gear I never go really low anyway. Raw, my hips hurt when squatting any weight.

Not too deep, but I'll take it. Raw totals I have no clue. I train my squats mostly in gear to save my hips. The deadlift I train raw often and have pulled 515 sumo in a belt and 505 conventional in a belt. My bench is my weakest lift and raw I am probably only good for 250-260.

Thanks brother!

It wasn't deep. It is also very hard to tell in that video since there are a bunch of ginormous quads blocking my hips, but I'd say the second rep with 705 was the deepest, but still not below parallel.

Haha, that's usually how it is. We get more excited to see our training partners hit PR's then we do for ourselves. Plus, right after you get out from under a weight like that, you need to just chill for a minute.

Your strength is great for your size. Would love to see a video of how much you squat raw going ATF or at least parallel.

since that is not what he trains for - it may not be as impressive - stll, I am sure he could do a lot

He trains for parallel.

I meant raw - using a suit is an art - or so i have heard, its a lot about technique, getting the suit to give massive gains

as well as going ATH - trying to stop at that point just at par. is much diff then just dropping straight to your heals
