View Full Version : The Beginning of the End of Missing Workouts

Hello all and welcome to my journal. I have never tracked my progress in the gym, so I am hoping this will keep me motivated. Every year is the same for me, work-out during the winter, then miss 6 months worth of work-outs during the summer, and start all over come winter. This year is going to be different. I have a gym at home now and have no excuse not to get it done.
Current Stats:
Age: 27
Height: 6'-1"
Weight: 250 lbs.
I have been doing Ripptoes SS. Here are the numbers from last night:
Squats:
135x8, 185x6, 215x6, 235x6, 245x6
Bench Press:
135x8, 185x6, 215x6, 235x4
Bent Over Rows:
135x8, 175x6, 180x6
Everything felt good today, starting to get really comfortable with the squats. Still need to work on sitting back. My wrist has been sore from bench press lately, I think I may try dumbell press for a while to see if that helps. I know the squats need work, they are my #1 priority right now.
I had ball hockey today, so I didn't get my full gallon of milk in. Only half or so. I also plan on tracking all my calories soon.

This was Wednesdays work-out, definitely some of the best squats I've done yet. I've got to figure out how long I should keep doing squats 3 times a week.
Squat: 135x8, 185x6, 220x6, 250x6, 250x6
Deadlift: 135x6, 225x6, 295x6, 345x6
Next work-out is tonite, at least it better be. Will be short on time, gotta pick up the girlfriend from the airport at 8:00, but I should get it in before then.

Today's work-out was really rushed since we're headed out camping for the long weekend. My wrist felt good benching, but the 235x3 was quite difficult today. Squats felt good, although leaning forward too much to get the last few out. Will be doing 255 next week.
Squats:
135x8, 185x6, 220x6, 250x6, 250x6
Bench Press:
135x8, 185x6, 215x6, 235x3

Nice start man, looks like you've got some good strength to start with so just gotta stay consistent. I have the exact same problem with squats, leaning forward on the heavier reps. I'm having to force myself to just drop the weight and perfect the form.

Hey philly, thanks for the reply. It's hard forcing yourself to drop the weight, but I guess it has to be done to get the form down. They still feel good, just could be better. Gotta start reading the starting strength book more too.

Moved the weight up for all 3 lifts this week, and they all felt great. Especially squats, I was a little worried about putting 270 on there.
