I was wondering what all of you use for a good pre-workout meal. a lot of times i can feal my body weakening because i know it is digesting too much when i am working out. Usually i am starving by the time i get back to my place before i have to rush out the door to meet my partner at the gym. usually i just have one strawberry pop tart and some ripped fuel and go, but this semester i have too many classes in a row and need something more, any ideas??

poptart would be a poor choice for food.

make an mrp with some oats and protein powder - you can add some water and chug it in between classes. also grab a spoonful of pnut butter for some fats.

Have you actually tried a strawberry frosted pop tart?? its benefits are incredible and it is in my diet as an essential part of lifting, if my partner was on here, he would agree because it has made him see a new light in his performance. The mystery may never be solved of the unrecognized power of the strawberry frosted pop tart...

I usually have some tuna and some ramen noodles, like an hour before, I could probably eat better, but I never feel drained, I usually feel good, so I stick with it.

ever try an apple, or some fruit? It has enough sugars in it to fuel you, yet not enough carbs to slow you down

Oatmeal

Tuna.

Bread.

Beef. Beef.

Babies.

Perhaps I've gone too far in my suggestions. Not all have a stomach as hearty as mine.

After my leg workout an hour ago, I can easily say that the best pre-workout food is most definitely NOT beef.

Quick question (not a flame):

Why do people ask questions when they are already set in their ways, and seem unwilling to accept advice?

What being said:

I like to have a meal w/ slow digesting carbs, some EFA's and protein a couple hours out and then have been splitting my post workout shake (contains hydro whey, BCAA's, maltodextrin, and dextrose) in half - and having half during my workout half after and then a whole food meal about 30-45 minutes after that.

I've been eating 2 Peanut Butter and Honey Sandwiches on raisan bread before I leave work then drink a bunch of water in the car...I get home anywhere from and hour to 2 hours later and I'm ready to train

brown rice, meat of some kind or eggs, olive oil 1-2 hrs before workout. Then 15 min before, 25g of whey isolate(this will keep amino acids in your blood for the next hr/hr and a half)..........
