I figure I should probably start posting my log, that way I'll get all kinds of **** if I slack off. I train at Southside and also the YMCA. My first meet will be a push pull in Wallingford, CT on August 16th.

Saturday 07/19
I ran the light weights (on the bar anyway) bench at Vincents seminar. I felt like I was doing sprints between my sets and handing off. Other than that it was a great time. No ass work though.

I trained with my buddy Joe at 0ne80 Sports in Wilmington, Mass. He got a nice PR the first time in his suit with 480. I did my horrendous high volume work and decided to take some singles. 365 and 405 were easy. I got stuck halfway up for a long time with 425. It sucked. We couldn't do any ass work because his gym was closing.

No lifting today. It turns out that I do actually have a nervous system and it doesn't like me. My whole lower body hurts. That whole "bag of smashed *******s" thing sucks. Standing on concrete all day doesn't really help either.

Nutritional Information:
I've eaten a lot of food yesterday and today, and a lot of it was beef. Thats all I really know because I didn't write anything down.

Finally got down to Southside on a Sunday, gonna have to make this a regular thing. Lifted with Josh and it went well. My two 495 pulls were clean but they were grinders. Pulling my tiresled on gravel is a lot easier than on pavement. After I went to the diner with Josh, Rhodes and Kenny and the waitress was a MILF that would probably do lots of things that are fun.

Aprox. 5518 Calories, 207 Grams of Protein. I need to work on schewing the numbers higher towards protein than just calories. A lot of fat today too but there was already a lot of fat in my body. As for the wings, I wasn't hungry when I went, I thought I was going to go home instead of hang out at a friends house after so I would just eat more then, I didn't eat all I could/should have, and my nose started bleeding again about 4 deep. So that messed up my ability to eat because I was worrying about bleeding on anything and I couldn't breathe as well so less food could go in. Basically I would like to apologize to God, my training partners, my friends, all the women who are drawn to me in an almost magnetic fashion, my family, and my parents for my poor showing at wing night and my poor protein intake.

So, I won the SHW Juniors at the meet yesterday. It was easy because I was the only one. I opened with a 265 bench and got two thumbs down (reds) because me HIPS came up. So I took it again and smoked it, even though the judge Vincent had words with gave me a thumbs down (red). Then 290 mind ****ed me and I missed it. But still, got one in the books. I opened with an easy 450 pulling. I went up faster than my last warm up. 500 was a little slower but still easy. Then came 535. I thought I set up well but I left weight too far away from my body and got it caught up on my gigantic penis so no dice there. Later I got a nice new tire from my friend Joe and we flipped it a few times in the parking lot of an adult bookstore. GOOD TIMES GREAT OLDIES. Plus I won an award, and isn't that what this sport is all about?

Well, Sunday I slept late and missed squatting. The terrible gyms around here were closed. I was going to go to one that was open this morning. Guess what happened? I'll either try to go tomorrow morning or push my training back to 4 days straight. 4 days straight won't happen so I guess I'm gonna try to get up at like 5 tomorrow morning. Damn it.

I got up at 5am nice an easy. I got to the gym and was squatting by 6. After my rack pulls it was about 7:30 so I decided to end my session and go shower so I could get to work on time. After work I went back to the gym to do my regularly scheduled ME military/ bench ass training. And it turns out my gym just might have ****ed me in the ass. Probably 60% of the free weight equipment including the single rack were disappeared. Now I was just going to deal with it and try to do my work out since I wasn't going to need a whole lot of anything. BUT THERE WERE ONLY FIVE PLATES. 5. I couldn't even do my military pressing because there weren't enough plates. I used 10 plates this morning for rack pulls, on the bar and to stand on. Now it would be one thing if there had been warnings posted all over the gym this morning and last week that something was going to go down. But there wasn't. They might just be doing some painting so they condensed the free weights for a while. OR they just ****ed me in the ass after being a member there for 20 years (since I was 2, I learned to swim there). Either way I'm pissed and am going to start putting a lot more thought into getting a rack and some other stuff on my own.

EDIT: well apparently it isn't as bad as I thought. The gaYMCA is doing some remodeling so the just stored the useless equipment. only room for the essentials like the smith machine, decline bench, and cable cross over. I guess I'm gonna be training elsewhere for a month-ish. good lord I want my own rack.

I decided not to do my Military/Bench Ass day this close to Friday. But doing 2 squat sessions in 36 hours probably wasn't the best idea. I trained at a nice upscale fitness club. It sucked but the wimins was lookin goood. I trained for free so no one yelled at me for useing chalk but I imagine that once I pay that might change. Oh well **** it. Noteworthy: some guy was teaching this real hot chick with a real nice bum to do SLDLs. While that was awesome, he had her doing them standing on an aerobics step and touching the pins where I was pulling from earlier. So she was basically doing SLDLs from a deficit. And rounding her back. My lord I do hate people. great view though. Plus I think I went to high school with her, its good to know she is still hot. Big gulps huh? WHELP, see ya later.

EDIT: I stopped doing squats because they were destroying my elbows and I want to be ready fro ME bench on Friday. Unpleasant. Plus I want get to use my shirt for the first time for a set after I get through my regularly prescribed pressing.

Good lord I am stupid. I got myself real messed up. Squatting with a straight makes my soul cry. Lots of Ice, Advil, and liniments tonight. Also, no dice on putting on the shirt tomorrow which sucks but starting to learn a shirt with torqued up elbows probably isn't smart.

Conditioning: Recumbent Bike for 7 minutes

Training at a serious commercial gym is so weird. I'm pretty pissed that I missed my first weight of this training cycle. The next time through I'm going to make sure I don't miss any training sessions as I feel that not military pressing last week really hurt my strength today. My elbows and shoulders were acting up pretty bad so i went with lower weights on most lifts. I'm really digging the pull down abs, I think they can really help me. As far as my conditioning, I was shooting for 20 minutes but the seat wouldn't go back far enough and my knees started to hurt. That was as good an excuse as any.

One trainer reaffirmed my faith in humanity tonight. She was teaching some old lady how to squat and she was making her sit back. It made me happy. Then I think she was going to have the old lady do good mornings. I got a semi right then and there. Then I saw a chick that looked a lot like Billy Mimnaugh running on a treadmill. I didn't know whether to be horny or horrified.

I forgot I was supposed to deload for military this week. Guess I'm gonna go 5x5 again next week. I'm actually doing some cardio and recovery work after lifting now, which is good. Also Bill-izabeth Mimnaugh was at the gym again. Awesome. Now I have to do homework before I play with myself.

Well before my knee was destroyed I went pretty wide. Just about as wide as I could and still keep good form. Unfortunately it looks like I wont be able to do any lower body work until summer.

Feels good man. My left quad is so weak. How weak is it? My left quad is so weak that 20lb extensions are hard. I think it was Ron Yard how is doing the ladies thigh machines. It makes sense. My hips are weak and tight as all hell so strengthening them is a good idea.

Sleeveless flannel - supports the upper back trapezius area for more pulling power
Camo hat - cuz there is no other color hat that is acceptable.

Shakey. I can tell it isn't all the way back yet. I probably won't try to push the weight up anymore for a few weeks, just add some volume.

That was it. Went to Providence with Rhodes and trained with TT. It was a good but long night. I like the old king a lot better than the bash. DONE. I squatted at Brian's with Josh today. Figured I could make up for my laziness on Sunday. And I did. It sucks that 225 felt heavy. It got easier as I went along, though. Josh noticed that after my first rep pulling I wasn't dropping my hips as far as I need to and I was pretty much just bending over. That means my back is strong but I need to fix it. I thought that might be the case. Josh hit a very nice 600. His squat is coming along nicely.

DONE. I squatted at Brian's with Josh today. Figured I could make up for my laziness on Sunday. And I did. It sucks that 225 felt heavy. It got easier as I went along, though. Josh noticed that after my first rep pulling I wasn't dropping my hips as far as I need to and I was pretty much just bending over. That means my back is strong but I need to fix it. I thought that might be the case. Josh hit a very nice 600. His squat is coming along nicely.

Good session dude.. your strength will come back man.. you've already moved forward quite a bit bro.

I was going to try to do some GHRs and GHR situps but I don't think I had eaten anything and I felt like puking. Anything involving a GHR would would have made that a certainty.

Done. That was it. My 5/3/1 numbers are ridiculously low. Oh well. 325 was ugly. 345 was damn near perfect. I think I slowed down when I pressed so I didn't have a sudden switch from shirt to triceps. But my knee didn't feel good under the weight for that one so I shut it down. I probably would have taken one or two more weights otherwise.

Well I have more to whine about so hear it goes. I only missed the 5th rep on the second set of 365 because i loosened up hard at the bottom. Like my feet came off the ground. I was pissed and embarrassed. I was about an inch from lockout too. Then, before I did Tates, I tried doing JM presses. But I just can't get my form down and I can't keep my shoulders tucked. SO I tried doing rolling triceps extensions. Result, I can't keep my shoulders tucked. So I tried Kaz presses, more of the same. With the Tate presses I could actually work my triceps instead of tearing up my shoulders. But everything bothers them, especially the left. Sucks.

Dip is highly anabolic. In fact all nicotine is. Treston Shull is a prime example of this. I don't think they make nacho flavored dip but beef jerky is available in tins.

That was that. My 5/3/1 bench numbers are LOOOOOOOOOOWWW. So deload means heavy singles. Got 375 half way up, dumped it over my face. Thank you, Josh. Took it again, got it about the same distance, needed to follow through with my elbows but I would have had to go a a little further over my face and I got scared. MISSING WEIGHT SUCKS! Opener on Friday.

I'm very lazy.

Meet was 4/11. Bench Only. I bloated up awesome. 329.9 at weigh in. Got it counted as 330. I rule. 325 opener, smoke. 375 second, a little less smoke. 400 third, practically smoke. Locked it out right into the rack. It probably isn't possible to come closer to getting a lift but still missing it. All in all, a damn fine day. Especially for my first meet benching in the shirt and second overall. The Raindancer Restaurant is the only real reason to go to Tribes Hill. It is fantastic. I ate so much I almost puked. Then I went to the bathroom and everyone left. I'm not sure I've actually thanked Vincent and Brian, but they did an AWESOME job handling Rhodes, Josh, and I. They made a world of difference. Also, I twittered during the meet. I'm a terrible person for it but I will continue to do so in the future.

Finally done with my awful post-injury squatting plan. No more doing gross 5s RAW. Now I get to do gross reps in gear sometimes. Still gonna work up to 365 or 405 RAW before the briefs go on though. Apparently that works well. In case anyone cares (unlikely) they're Metal Pros, via Mattimer Rhodes. Used a couple times. Not too tight, went on easily. I look super gross in them.

Yes they are APT. I like them pretty well. I really only wear them to keep my knees, mainly the left one, warm and tight. If I do get anything out of them it's minimal. If you've been using neoprene ones then you shouldn't need to think anymore.

Thanks a lot, man. My knee was one of the best things that could have happened to my bench. It's light years ahead of where it was. I had another log for a few months when I couldn't squat or deadlift. It's out there somewhere and is in every way superior to this one. Except for the whole "knee no work" factor.

Those are the Spud safety straps. If you dump it, those will catch the bar. I'm in a pair of pro briefs that have gotten tighter in the month or so I've had them.

Those are the Spud safety straps. If you dump it, those will catch the bar. I'm in a pair of pro briefs that have gotten tighter in the month or so I've had them.

what briefs/suit are you wearing? I can't fit into my hand me down metal briefs.. my fat thighs are too fat.

This is unpossible, find a way to fit, gear can never be too tight.
