anybody know? i searched google and bodybuilding.com said 2007 winner was Billy Edwards of North Carolina with a 281lb bench press in the 148s, so is this still correct or has it changed since then?

I searched Alex Poku on google.com and Powerliftingwatch.com showed him with a 430lb bench press in 1990 just like Travis said. Damn thats a massive bench for a 148'lber.

I believe his record is 435, but I am not sure what the top 148ers can do raw. Joe Scalzo has benched 420 raw in training at 148 at almost 50. He normally takes between 365 and 405 raw before putting on a shirt. Joe Czechlovsky is probably strong raw with a 600 shirted. Unfortunately there are alot of very strong raw benchers that don't bother to do it in a meet because it's not worth risking injury if the overall goal is to be good with a shirt.
