View Full Version : Post workout drink. When?

I just have a quick question. I usually work out at home between 11 and 12 in the afternoon. Once I am done lifting I go for about a 8 - 10 mile bike ride. I feel like I should drink my protein drink after the weightlifting and before the bike ride. The guy at The Vitamin Shoppe said I should do it after the bike ride. Which is correct? It takes me about 40-50 minutes to do this ride so I am not lolly-gagging, if that matters. Thanks for any input you can give me and I apologize if this has been covered, but all saw was "protein before or after workout or both" type of thing...

have like gatorade, or some sort os sugery supplement, like that gel stuff or a energy bar after ur workout before the ride
