I am hoping my boy Sam BYrd chimes in here. I read Kroc's way of dropping weight over at Elite Fitness and the man knows whats up! Anyone have any tips on doing it? Post it here please.

there are a few tricks and different ways to do it, but my favorite trick is load up on caffine and ephedra and put on one of those wrestling sweatsuits. then when the caffine kicks in, i pop 2 cialis and a viagra and go to town on my girl for 2 st8 days. its difficult to keep going near the end after losing all that water, but my girl really supports me and cracks that whip. she wont let me give up and quit, she is a real team player that one.

This is my method, i took most of it from mr byrd:

for a friday @ 9am weigh in.

3 weeks out: start drinking 2-3 gallons of water per day + salt everything.
2 weeks out: eat easily digestible foods (i think this varies from person to person). yogurt, chicken, fish, rice, etc are not to bad.

tuesday: high water, drop all carbs (but replace the cals with fats like olive oil). drop salt (optional on this day i suppose, find what works best).

wednesday: high water, i drink only 6-8 protien shakes throughout the day mixed with fiber powder, this really leaves little in my stomach. pretty much no salt on this day. keep water intake high.

thursday: couple glasses of water in the AM, then thats it. eat nothing (if it really sucks eat a couple non-salted almonds).

at about 7-8pm judge where you are at in terms of weight. if you are within 3lbs i would goto sleep (possibly in heavy clothing). If you are more then 3lbs you may need to take a hot bath before sleeping.

before bed: take a shot of lemon juice. this is actually refreshing imo at this point.

wake up ~ 6-7. If you are still over, take another hot bath or two.

when i competed at 198 i started at near 214lbs, i did this method, i took 1 bath before bed and one when i woke up and weighed in at 196.

some things you could add:
Vitamin B/C loading
Dandelion root / herbal diretics
enema /colon clense ?? no idea

Kroc can definitely get the weight down in a short amount of time, but you also have to wonder if his methods are leading to the multiple tears he's had.

looks good. i cut a little bit of weight, so at about 6pm on thurs i stop pissing. i start sauna or hot baths (man i am not looking forward to these in 3 weeks!) at out 7-8 once i havent been able to piss any more. from that point i can sweat out another 12-15 pounds. its an all night thing, and i dont sleep usually, i just lay there hating life. last year at the pro am i took several baths till about 1 am when the weight stopped coming off. i couldnt sleep so i went and wandered around walmart in a sauna suit for a few hours and came back to finish the job from about 4-8

Sam does not sleeping the night before effect your performance on the platform?

The only thing I would add to this would be I'll add digestive enzymes the last week to make sure I'm not holding any extra bulk.

Colon cleanse product - magnesium citrate. Make sure you are going to be near a toilet if you use this...

I took Sam's post to mean he didn't sleep the thursday night/friday morning before the weigh-in. I think he would still get sleep the friday night before the comp. But it would be interesting to hear if it did impact his performance negatively.
