i hate shoes :( they mess up my base and leg drive for squats and deads. i tried wearing converse once because they're flat and all, but i still didn't feel as strong as i am barefoot. in compititons aren't you allowed to wear special deadlift socks?


Looks like the weight is just flyyyyyying up... How much do you feel those briefs help you?

thanks man, the briefs really helps you off the floor (~50lb worth) where us little guys need it most :p once its off the floor, the rest is pretty much on you. the thing is if you focus on pulling with speed, the weight will keep the momentum off the floor and just breeze up the rest of the way, or at least this is how i felt.

Just work on lockouts and you shoudl be good for plenty more. Speed off the floor does not seem to be a problem for you.

thanks man, i'm hoping to hit triple bodyweight in a few weeks. that'll be a huge milestone for me.


Just work on lockouts and you shoudl be good for plenty more. Speed off the floor does not seem to be a problem for you.

ya you can tell in the video i slowed down a bit when i got to the lockout. i've been hitting rack pulls hard the past few weeks and have been progressing pretty quickly. i'm going to try some speed work with bands to stimulate the same process as lifting in briefs with the weight being lighter off the floor and heavier at the top.

you wear deadlift socks in competitions, but still need to wear shoes! try some ballet or other dancing shoes, wrestling shoes, etc.

wrestleing shoes might be a option for you i mean they weigh next to nothing at all they have pretty dang good grip as well.
