Most people who say they don't care about bench haven't focused on it - me included.

Seriously man - get to benching or overhead pressing. This is not the route to take.

Yeah we bench also, but my squat max just seems to shoot up every time we have squat days. And it just accumulated.

I've been looking around here for ways to lose my stomach
and gain upper body strength

I wish I had time to put my squat video on youtube, and you guys can tell me if my form is right or wrong. I don't want to hurt myself lol

Simple. Inner core strength for upper body exercises like Military Press, Push Press, One Arm DB Presses, Inclined Bench Press etc.......

Also, it mimicks his defensive tackle movements and adds stability strength to those movements (push a player up and away from the QB)

Cheers.

It does require a good bit of isometric work in the back, traps, shoulders, torso, and triceps.

Isometric holds do very little for hypertrophy and strength gains.

They certainly aren't optimal, but they have their place. Excessive isometrics or ones without maximal force production are the ones that are pretty much worthless.

I don't know why overhead squats would be the first recommendation. But, they should help if you're not doing any other overhead work. Still better than curls.

Very true - I'll agree with you even though you like Auburn...:ninja:
