For the true DL fans,

I thought it would be good to provide a little hype for the Sept. 7th meet in Humble, Texas. If you have never seen or still have the images of the 'Titan' Tony's textbook pulls burned into your mind, you can once again see him hungrier than ever less than a month form now. Motivated and refocused, Tony and Richard are laying the foundation for Record Pulls as I am posting this. Just a snapshot of today's light workout day included:

605 3x6 raw
655 1x1 belt
725 2x1 suited and explosive!!!

Richard "the human forklift"
425x6 550x1 WTF easy

For those thinking these #'s are funny, book your reservations today for the fireworks on 9/7.

Feel free to post your thoughts on the road to World's.

Next time maybe I can get some Top Secret gym footage for youtube.

Tony is a definite animal.

I'll be there helping out some guys. Looking forward to it

Those 2 guys are really deadlift royalty. I had been wondering where they have been lately. Caaprari has been gone for way too long. I can't wait to see him back on the platform

Any other meet hype? SGT ROCK? Anyone keep the thread alive.

I spoke to Tony, he will get a big number in Dallas but please keep in mind that the Worlds is all that really matters, there the biggest pulls will be unleashed. Look for 771-804 from Tony and 600 from Rich at 132. I will be right there coaching them, how easy is that going to be! 2 of the best pullers ever to come out of the US.

Update! All reps done in the same workout a few days ago:

Tony 725x1 and 750 for 3x1 at 189

Richard 545x3 and 575x1 at 129 With a 600 pull at 132 he could be considered the greatest DLer in the US right now, could he not?

How about that!!!

Two of the best! One of my fav Tony Caprari stories was after the Riverfest show in Bama a few years back (one of the best shows of all time!). We competed on Saturday and parited heavy up in Bham after, we were all a bit hungover lets just say. We came back to the meet site on a rainy sunday to help put away the weights and platform stuff etc. Needless to say we were not feeling great, hungover, wet and hungry, and sore as well. It was around 10am and we didn't eat breakfast yet. Tony and I loaded up some weights from the site and unloaded them at Golds. We sat down and took a break and Tony sat on a bench. Of course we stared to load it up. He was wearing a Hawaiin shirt, and shorts, and reaked of booze lol! He proceeded to bang out 135x10 225x10 315x10 365x5 and 405x3 then an easy 425x1 weighing 186, not bad for a DLer?!!! We then finished unloading and hit the Waffle House of course.

Just got some Top Secret training videos that leaked out via some cell phone intel. The quality of the vids is decent, but the lifts are insane period. Tony and Richard are doing a good job of keeping a tight trng. routine and not deviating from their plan thus keeping them hungry every week. Not over trng. and staying injury free this close to the meet is paramount.

They both have incredible form along with extreme midrange and top end strength. Stay tuned and keep the thread alive!!! I attempted to attach the footage, but the format was invalid for this forum.

Caprari looks similar as far as muscle size and stuff as he used to. But I swear I don't remember Hawthorne being that skinny. Man, you talk about muscle density and neuromuscular coordination!

I was thinking the same thing. His legs are skinny as. But either way he is a lot smaller than me and lifts a lot more than me so who am I to comment.

Remember guys he is only 128lbs! See him in person and see the huge density of his back and upper body for someone that light. Skinny legs? THE ALL TIME HIGHEST SQUAT AT 132 ON A SECOND ATTEMPT! Surely a bit skinny yet powerful.

Tony and Rich closed out an impressive training camp for their meet next weekend in Houston just in time to prepare for Hurricane Gustav. As it looks now, the storm is taking a path directly at western New Orleans and eastern Texas. Lets all prey that the South is not torn up and everyone survives with minimal losses. I don't know if the meet will still happen, but I can tell you that these two guys are more intense than ever and will definetly show the fans some exciting lifts and witness new records.

Everyone prey that the Hurricane slows and breaks up over the next few days.

Gustav managed to little damage and hopefully there will be no postponement fo the the meet on 9/7. I am sure ready to see Tony and Rich back in action and, I am anticipating real damage to the record book.

The Hurricane was a no show at the meet sight and it looks like the only destuction that will occur is going to happen at meet time. My predictions for the meet are both guys finishing with records.

Tony 804# @198
Rich 611# @132

Both of these lifts would be Top 10 all time.

Tony and Rich both weighed in holding Double big Mac's. Both came in extremely light with Caprari @195 and Hawthorne @129. They both said they ate fast food the whole way to Texas in an attempt to put on some last minute lifting pounds. All looks good so far, and hopefully I can keep the status of the lifts current as the meet starts up a little later.

Just a short recap from this morning, Both guys destroyed their openers Tony at 727# and Rich @ 551#. The crowd quickly chanted for the World Record second attempts. Without hesitation, Richard called for 600.8 clearly eclipsing his own record. With the crowd chanting, he gave another spectatular lift joining the 600 club at 129#BW. Like Richard, Tony too had the crowd behind him as he looked to regain his World Record. With 774 locked and loaded, He demonstrated yet another amazing DL regaining his record as the crowd cheered for 800. Ultimately, both guys gave valiant efforts on their third attempts of 804 and 611 but will have to wait to World's in November to up their records. Hopefully, their videos will pop up on YOUTUBE here shortly because plenty of people recorded it.

Everyone give these two a shout out.

Tony is a nutty strong puller for his body weight!

09-07-2008, 09:10 PM
Tony just called me....look for their thirds to be successful at worlds and then some. They were both pleased with their performance. I hope Eiseman goes 198, they could both go over 800.

Congrats to both of those guys. That is freak pulling right there. I would love to see both of these guys in person. Sounds like a battle brewing at worlds.

Hey Rock, I just talked with Eiseman and he is going to be 181 for the NOTLD Glory Meet on Sept 20 and expect an attempt at the all-time record of 800 pounds. He will open 751. Remember, he is the only man in world history to stand up with 800 but it was turned down 2-1. He will give it another try and will again do it at 181 and 50 years old. I think he will stay at 181 for a while. He told me he was just playing at 198 and really was a 181. If something happens and Eiseman does not get it on Sept 20, he will back at the NOTLD Greed meet on Oct 25 to try it again.

09-10-2008, 12:48 PM
Eiseman is a good friend of mine and super puller. Tell him to gain some weight and go head to head with Tony at the Worlds...that would be one great showdown!

Sounds good,

They are both really light 98's and could Both be the best ever at both 81's and 98's, but head to head Tony is clutch. I can count on one hand the # of times he has not placed first in any powerlifting federation, and he has never been beat in a DL meet. I am sure Tom is probably the same. So, I think that would be awesome if Tom moved up to put on a super show at Worlds.

09-10-2008, 08:34 PM
Eiseman has done some recent shows at 198 so a move up would not be a big disadvantage for him. Im going to email him and see whats up.

Spoke to Tom and it looks like he will go 181 at worlds as his natural bodyweight is so low it would make no sense to get up to 198. He is a true gentleman and I feel he could get his 804 at 181, he is one of the best technicians I have ever seen.

I have never seen him pull. It would be cool if you can get a vid put on Youtube. I am working on getting Tony and Richard's WR pulls put on there.

Not to hijack the thread..but here is Tom, lets get one of Tony up here. Two different styles of the DL both with great results.

I have been promised thatTony and Richard's lifts are coming. They are having problems convering it from IFO to another format so Youtube will accept it.

09-12-2008, 05:11 AM
I agree that Tom is really a 181. He really carries no muscle mass except in his superstrong torso.

How about this, they both go 198 and then both go 181. That would be cool.

Either way, Tony is a pulling machine that I would love to meet and watch lift any day of the week.

Watch out for Sept 20. That meet will be freaky. There may be one more lifter to bring into this discussion at a heavy 181 or a light 198...Tee Meyers. I think his pull earlier this year was 776 or 772 at 190 and 52 years old.

All 3 guys could pull 800 at either class. It has been around 16 years since a sub 200# US lifter has went over 800 and never in the 81's. I think Tom is doing the best by cutting very little weight to 181 and will be the first to break 800 in this class. Tony will never cut to 81 because he won't give up beer ( SGT Rock can vouch for that) and the Italian in him keeps him eating to much at his family's house in Biloxi. TNDeadlifter, he is a very layed back dude and would lift with you or any one that is down in that neck of the woods on the MS Gulf Coast just look him up. Trust me though man he trains like a true animal, but that is what everyone wants in a training partner.
