Gyms in IL????

Anyone know of any gyms an hour or so south of Chicago? I know there is Quads in the Chicago area, but looking for something south. I thought I remembered hearing someone has a gym near Kankakee???

Tony Soucie has a crew that trains strongman near there. You might try posting over at the Anvil.

Lockup Gym in Taylorville, but that's more than an hour south of Chicago.

I don't know about Kankakee, but there are a few in Champaign-Urbana. That might be too far for ya, though.

Where do you live in IL? Bloomington is about two, maybe two and a half hours south of chicago. They're always having powerlifting meets there so I'm sure they have a pretty good gym.

Eric Stone has a PL team lifting at Velocity Sports in Willowbrook. He owns the ChicagoPL site.

I will be in Kankakee. I was looking for something near there, within a half hour if possible. I know Eric Stone well and his gym, but that is too far. Thanks for posting back everyone. If you know anyone near there please let me know

Hi I know of a decent gym in frankfort illinois called bodytech its not a powerlifting gym but it is hardcore.

Sometimes i train there, and the owner lets me do my thing. he's cool about hardcore lifters, its a very nice club he allows chain's and bands and chalk.
