Ok, I have to ask, what's the green thing on the top piece?

Deep fry anything and it gets better.

When Im doing a "clean bulk", I eat the regular ones. But when Im goin for the real calories, the fried are superior.

Local bar has them. Battered, deep fried and served with ice cream and a rasberry puree.

I had a twinkie once when I was a kid, I completely forget the taste. Apparently back in the day they used banana cream instead of what they have now. I have had those chocolate swiss rolls that come in pairs. They kind of taste like joe louis, which I think are only sold in Canada. Those would taste good deep fried :)

That's what I'm talking 'bout! Fried Snickers are where it's at!

Although I might give a fried Twinkie a ride, too.

Oh my.

What kind of "batter" are they coated in?
Or does he just throw them in the oil as is?

That's just plain wrong on so many levels.

It must taste like a small piece of heaven.

I saw at the local fair deep fried PB&J sandwiches. Sounds devine.

Normally they use a batter before deep frying.

Only the best flavour of chips! You can't explain the taste really. Its one of the staples among ketchup, BBQ, sour cream and onion...

The batter is usually like funnel cake batter. I watched some thing on the food channel once where they showed all sorts of things being deep fried as the new carnival fad and funnel cake batter seemed to be used for all of it. They fried PB&J sandwiches, twinkies, oreo cookies, snickers, mars bars (the England version of MArs bars) and even pizza.

Here is a reciepe for the batter to make funnel cake from Rachel Ray. Just dip whatever sweet you want to fry in this and go for it but I think it has to be frozen first. I want to try this out now.

3 cups vegetable oil
4 cups flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups milk
3 large eggs

1. In a deep medium skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it registers 350 to 375 on a deep-fat thermometer.
2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt. Make a well in the center and add the milk and eggs; whisk until smooth.

I wonder how many deep fried twinkies it would take for me to put on the 40 lbs I'm looking for...

Or a couple deep fried pizza's for that matter...
