To those of you currently cutting, how much are you cutting on?

I'm starting a cut tomorrow and I plan on eating about 2300 cals to do so. Hopefully I lose some of the flab so I can eventually bulk cleanly again.

I am 5'10''. 190-195 lbs and doing Baby Got Back and I will incorporate a lot of HIIT.

Just curious.

Im currently at 1550. Take this with a grain. Im on the velocity diet. As Im sure you have found, many people argue about whether 1500ish is too low. I will tell you this: I have been suggested and read about this diet from several people who's opinion I respect, and its working for me.

I had cut on 1800cals and plateau'd until I went lower. I have enough energy to complete my lifts and do my LISS in the mornings, and Im seeing the ~2lbs a week loss right now. Im hoping for single digit bf in the coming 2 weeks.

Do I think 1550 is really low? Yes
Am I worried about transitioning back to bulk? Yes
Would I suggest 1550 (actually there is a formula for your stats...mine is 1550) to someone else? Not right off the bat.

I started at 195lbs with a bodpod eval and then got down to 170 and did a bodpod eval. Between the two, the bodpod results said I had only lost .5lbs of muscle to 24.5lbs of fat. Im currently down to 160 from 170 and will be quite curious to see the results of my monday bodpod appointment. I would assume I have lost more muscle mass than before due to the low calories...but who knows.

Start with 2300 and work your way down as need be and as you are comfortable. If I had to make a guess based on your size and my limited research and knowledge, I would think somewhere in the 1800-2000 mark is what eventually will give you great results. Im hopeful that 2300 does the trick though. Cutting is a beotch. Best of luck bud.

Taylor Daly - What formula?

((10.2 x bodyweight) + 879) x 0.6 = Calories on your lifting days

((10.2 x bodyweight) + 879) x 0.5 = Calories on your off days
