I am posting this here with Chris Mason's approval.

This is a meet that I am putting on along with a local gym here in northern Indiana. It is not sanctioned or affiliated with any federation or other organization, it's just for fun.
If you are in the area or within driving distance it would be a good way to spend a day.

There will be a lot of novice lifters and people new to powerlifting along with other experienced lifters. It's a good way to meet people, promote the sport and introduce lifters to REAL weight training :)

I'll be competing.
I'm organizing it and making it all happen but I'll have another person on the mic actually running the meet.

One more quick question... I've never done a PL meet before, Are straps and belt allowed in the Raw DL?

Well, I weigh 191lbs right now... so looks like I'll be in weight class 181, correct? Do you think I should do Novice, Junior or Open? I'm 22 years old.. Hmm...

not unless you cut weight to get to 181 or below, otherwise you would be in the 198lb class.

Not sure if we'd be able to do the meet (probably not since Lynn will just be returning from Miami), but it's a possibility. Make sure you submit the results to PL USA!

Nick would OWN that meet. BTW, I didn't know you lived over in Indiana, too, Nick. We should all meet sometime what with myself, Lynn, Chris, Jessie, and Nick all living with a few hours of each other (perhaps in Indy or something?).

Here are the results from the meet.
I want to thank all of the competitors and urge those who decided not to lift to give it a go next April. It was a very positive experience for those involved and was a lot of fun for everyone.

We are going to do another one in April. Hope to see a lot more lifters :)
