"fat burning" products usually help you by raising your heart rate/basal metabolism, suppressing appetite, giving you an energy boost in the form of a stimulant, or in some cases increase your circulation (to make use of the free fatty acids).

Just so you are aware these are supplements and in most cases will only assist a successful diet/routine. Taking them will not magically make you start to lose fat if you are not already.
