View Full Version : Bulking w/ 40% Fat

Currently I am bulking. 175 lbs and about 15% body fat.
After looking at my fitday.com logs for the past weeks, I am concerned about my fat intake. It usually breaks down to about:
40% Fat
30% Protein
30% Carbs
I am not doing this on purpose. I simply focus on getting 5,000 calories a day to bulk up nicely. Most of the fat is coming from whole milk and eggs, no junk foods. I am getting over 200g of protein, which is plenty for me. I am gaining weight obviously with 5,000 calories.
Would you guys recommend me trying to bring the fat % down a bit?

I would definitely try and bring the fat down and protein up so its 40/30/30. P/f/c

Me too when I read the title!
I know what you mean, it's quite hard to keep the fat content down. For example, a Steak Bake - from Gregs the bakers, is a good snack, contains 500 calories but 36g's of fat. If I were to have two, that's nearly 80g of fat in one meal! :omg:

maybe drop the whole milk for skim milk and supplement some of your protein with whey protein.
Also, lean proteins like chicken breasts, turkey, tuna, etc help a lot :)
but fat is good, don't be afraid of it :)

Haha. Now that I look at the title, it does sound like I have 40% fat. I couldn't imagine myself being over 20%, hell I feel a bit fat being at 15% right now.
Alright I am going to slim down the fat % and bump up the protein. Probably go for less egss and red meat. I gots to have my whole milk. Ever since I started seriously bulking up, I can't drink skim milk anymore, tastes like water.
