Its was a great lift but pretty stupid at the same time

As awesome as that was, there's no way that was good for his body. Eek.

Why is it stupid? He can't use the other arm. He wants to get stronger. People with two working arms used to do one-arm deadlifts in their training back in the old days.

429 is ridiculous. I tried to do it with 315 a few weeks ago and couldn't get it off the floor.

You guys have to keep in mind that that's nothing with regards to torquing your body when it comes to strongman. Yoke walks, stones, log cleans, tire flips - they're all dangerous. We're not in this **** to be safe are we? ;)

What Eric I think is getting at is that something like this could cause muscle imbalances and possibly make him favor one side over the other when he gets back to normal training? And I'm sure that isn't a good thing.

And I thought that people do one armed deadlifts standing sideways... and they alternate sides.

Youtube is constantly reminding me that I'm not very strong...

That's just freakin' rediculous.

10-20-2008, 01:37 PM
i cant even think about doing that with 2 hands.

10-20-2008, 04:21 PM
If I tried that I would be standing there looking at my arm hanging off the barbell... still on the floor :omg:

I don't think it is a stupid movement. Eric was referring to the possibility of tearing his other biceps? In that context I understand his comment.

In any event, the lift demonstrates crazy grip and forearm strength!

no regrets

That was incredible.

Felix is an amazing deadlifter and that was amazing. To bad he never did better at WSM.
