Try going on a diet with no grains and no dairy. I have read that many people lose up to 15 pounds within weeks by making this switch.

seconded. Ive cut down my soda intake to very rarely, and ive seen a difference. Sweets, now thats a problem for me.

kept the dairy for my own sanity

ditched the grains and sugars...great progress at first (lost 8-10lbs), but I stopped tracking calories so I can't say for sure how good the results could have been

Of course if you go low carb you can drop tons of water weight fast. Who cares if it is just water weight.

I think everyone knows not to eat junk and sweets when cutting, this is something that will help you more.

Considering it's anti-catabolic, and can be extremely low cal VS the protein it yields, I don't see why.

I guess in the context of arbitrarily removing things it could somehow make sense. This is the problem with anything that isn't based directly on an understanding of energy balance.
