i have a question about deads. when doing them i stand on a platform so at the bottom part of each rep the plates don't hit the floor. i then continue doing my next rep from there going back up then down again. my question is, should i be doing them of the floor and treating each rep as a single? meaning, at the the bottom off each rep place the bar back in its starting position on the floor and begin the next rep.
any ideas?

I do yes...
Although I don't just put the bar down, I keep the pressure on.. I let the bar just touch the floor and bagn its up again.. Nice and controlled but yes back to the starting position..
I know many people use a raised block for straoght legged deadlifts as it allows for a greater stretch of the hamstrings..
I would stick to no raise and as I outlined above..

I do the same as Hulk, I do SLDL on a raised platform to gime more stretch to my hams.

I agree with Hulk on the deads. For stiff-legged, it can become dangerous to let the bar move past mid-shin level. This will cause most people to round their back which is not good.
