View Full Version : What's your diet's cornerstone?

just wondering if any of you have a certain food you consider the basis of your diet? For me, every single saturday since 6th grade I've had a tuna grinder from subway. For me I consider nutrition the week beginning and ending on saturday evening with that grinder. I feel more positive, because I look at it as, 'I'm starting off the week great'.

Well. I go to the local China Buffet every Saturday. The little Chinese waiters wave at me and get all excited everytime I come in.

I think your mistaking the word cornerstone with cheat meal.

LOL, I don't neccesarily mean cheat meal. Doesn't have to be a huge meal, just a meal you think of as being hte base for your diet
My Kashi GoLean cereal with skim milk. Makes me happy to get up in the morning.

i eat 8 cups of oatmeal a day.

hmm..it's a toss up......
i could say it's my cottage cheese and flax. i could say it's my green salad at night.....
but i'm gonna go with as much lean red meat and seafodd as i can get my hands on. really the cornerstone for me is protein.
1.5 lbs of chicken each day, and whole wheat products.
If I wasn't so into eating right, I'd eat pasta 3 times a day like I used to.

The cornerstone of my diet?
Fish. Doesn't matter if it's a can of tuna straight from the can, or something more fancy like the grilled Mahi Mahi with fennel and julienned leek greens I made last week, but I eat fish almost every damned day. And I love it. I found I was feeling ill if I ate too much of the 'standard' chunk light tuna, but if I mixed things up a bit, it was cool.
Running a close second/third to cornerstones in my diet:
- lamb (I eat lamb several times a week... its one of the few 'positive' meats on my blood type diet
- Whey Protein (this may be a no-brainer, but I'm sucking down whey every day... it's the only thing I'm guaranteed to eat because I like to mix things up a bit and not get in a diet rut)
It USED to be boneless/skinless chicken breasts for me, but I don't eat chicken anymore... I miss being able to make 'chicken boobies' jokes though.

Bulking= milk, natty pb, wheat bread, tuna, oatmeal.
cutting=oatmeal, tuna, flax,veggies.
The one thing I always have is my milk+whey+oatmeal shake in the morning cause its so fast.
