Basketball court we share with several other groups, including a martial arts club and a roller figure skating group.

Our platforms are mobile and change location every session for the pure fun of it. You can see our two squat racks, plates on the floor, trolley with the third platform on it. I love my gym!

Home made platforms to.

So, post where you train!

LAWL fuzzy I think your thread's been hijacked.

That being said,

All I could find was a picture from the out side which isn't that exciting... Maybe I'll snap one of my home gym when I get back though.

Bench, Power Rack, and some plates. That's about all you need. I'm about ready to turn my garage into a little gym. I already have a bench and a power rack. I need to buy more bands and some more plates. Then I'll be set.
I'll still be up there on Saturdays Coach Wolfy.

You ever go to Gold's up there? I was a member there for 2 years and got in some pretty decent workouts... though that was 10+ years ago and it might have changed some.

I train at a commercial gym, this is there newest gym, I normally go to a different location that is about 5 times bigger ( huge free weight area ) but this one is less crowded. It opened about 2-3 months ago, all rubber coated weights, hammer strength, life fitness, and precor equipment. I spend almost all my time in the power rack. There is also a bunch of machines between the free weights and cardio area, I just didnt take any pics.

I did for a bit, the way my schedule changed around it just didn't work out for me anymore. Needed something open 24/7 so I could go in the middle of the night.

Would someone explian to me how the catches on Detard's bench (or indeed a power rack) would work. Would you have to arch your chest up to where the catch is, then simply flatten your back if the lift fails?
I use a standard bench for my benching.

Travis Bell
11-07-2008, 04:40 AM
you set the pins just below your chest where you touch. Should the crap hit the fan, you just push the bar lower towards your hips and onto the pins, or back over your head onto the pins. Very nice for keeping people un-smooshed if you don't have spotters

Ok, figured I'd get some shots up of my training facility! My second home, my oasis from bull*****. It's private, you don't go there unless you are invited, which is why it's so great, no A-holes. The best place I've ever trained in my life. The great attitude, heavy lifting and camaraderie are great. And as far as equipment, you can workout here and not want for anything; all the stuff you need is here as well as the extra stuff like a grappler, Prowler, sledge hammers, Viking Press, all kinds of strong man stuff, stones, tires, sleds, etc.
Anyone in southern NY above the TZ bridge anytime look me up and we'll SFW as Rhodes would say!!!

Hey,

That Electric pallet truck you all were using to move your equipment is made by the company I work for "Crown". We do alot of business in Australia, we got a TON of those walkies sitting over here in our Celina warehouse.

That is cool hell who knows I might of welded some of the component parts on it :)

The Chrome legpress you guys have in there we have on identical to it at the hometown gym I train at here in Celina. Those things are antiques they have had that one in there since I joined the club back when I was like 13 and it was old then!!! I've actually used it for upright rows though.

Hell, upright rows are a great idea!! We use it a lot to do lat rows, but I never thought about an actual upright row. We put some weight on there then choke a band off the back and put it on outside the weight, grab the middle portion and row. It makes for a helluva bent over row because of the grip being so fat.
I'm gonna do upright rows with it later this week.

Hey Dj, yeah, the guy who owns the gym is the Powerlifting Coach at West Point. He's a great, great guy and has become a good friend of mine. We don't always agree on different "philosophies" in PL but he's a guy who really helps people who lift at his place succeed. He's a Louie Simmons disciple and friend of Lou's. The place is just outside Middletown, NY off the quickway, exit 118. You would never know it was there in a million years, as I spent my whole life in the area and didn't know it existed. The Times-Herald Record did on ongoing story a couple years ago and the reporter got into PL and did it for a while and actually hosted a meet for charity so that's where I saw it in the newspaper, or saw Rick's/the Coach's email. I sent him an email last year and he invited me up; and I've been training there ever since. I didn't know the first thing about PL at the time. I mean, I squatted and stuff but didn't really know a friggin thing. Rick basically spoon fed me for six months and now I'm like a different person. Anyway, when you get up here I'll get you set up.
