Great job! What kinds of things you doing to lose the weight? Cardio, diet, etc?

04-02-2002, 03:34 PM
hmm ...

well before summer started i told myself that it would be the summer of my life ;). so this is what i did - took that picture of me w/ my shirt off and posted it on my mirror. i got a job and a gym membership. my summer consisted of:

playing bball w/ my friends (like 3 hrs a day)
playing lacrosse on the weekends
working @ chicks sporting goods (sellin shoes)

I really kept up w/ my diet and during the 3 months of summer i lost 15-20lbs.

I started going to the gym a lot more (to lift, i sorta hate cardio) during school (like 6 days). But now that lacrosse started i can only go to the gym 3 days a week.

these pics are also a couple months old...ill have to take some more..

thanks for the compliments! i am workin pretty hard but i guess im plateauing now but i think this week (spring break) is sorta like a boot camp im putting myself thru and after it i think i can lose the rest of this fat and put on some serious muscle!!

04-02-2002, 04:15 PM
Lifting 3 days a week should be plenty... YOu shouldn't be doing more than that (at least not at this point). You don't want to over work.

Lacross should provide you with PLENTY of cardio.

Cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, take a fat burner such as ephedra, split your ratio of food intake as follows
protien 50%-carbs 30%-fats 20% .Also taking CLA would help.
Sorry for flippin on that erlier thread I read into it way too much.

04-03-2002, 07:05 AM
oh no problem.

i've got issues with cardio on an empty stomach, but the macro breakdown isn't bad at all.

04-03-2002, 07:07 AM
thas pretty much what most cutting peeps on here do superlog

04-03-2002, 08:50 AM
Good job man! Keep up the good work! If I only could get that tan though:)

04-03-2002, 09:47 AM

right now i take one pill of hydroxycut in the morning. i dont feel like a huge rush or anything but i think it helps me get thru my runs, sessions of jump rope, lifting and stair climber.

i also have used and have creatine but i dont know if i should use it or not and i also have carb powder but a guy at my gym said that what causes me to keep the fat so im staying away from that.

i also have glutamine but i dont know when i should take it. i have been taking zma too.

and of course protein shakes!!

04-03-2002, 11:11 AM
Glutamine helps with muscle recovery and boosts GH (Growth Hormone) levels. The best times to take it are post-workout and before you go to bed at night.

Keep up the good work.

BTW, the carb powder will only keep you fat if your ratios aren't correct. I suggest mixing the protein, creatine, glutamine, and carb powder to make a post-workout shake (thereby taking advantage of the 'anabolic window' you have after you workout).

04-03-2002, 11:45 AM
hmm what do you suggest?

like around 20 g carb
5g glutamine
10 g creatine
20 g protein

prolly taste like SHIAT cuz my proteins choclate and my carb powder is grape lol!!!

04-03-2002, 12:20 PM
I shoulda done that before and after pic. Probably would help motivate me a lot more =P.

I lost 20 - 30 pounds in 3-4 months time. I think I'm at a good weight to start toning up. But that sounds along the same lines of what I did.

I started at 165 or so at 5'8 1/2. I got down to 140 and am starting to concentrate on building muscle mass since I have lots of flab still leftover. Popped some hydroxycut in the morning, waited about 15 minutes and then ran maybe 3 miles about 5 days a week and lifted every other day (3 times a week).

Burned some major fat that way.

My only problem now is fine tuning my diet to get a good ratio of protein/carb/fat to start gaining some muscle mass. Working with a 2000 calorie diet.

I dont think you will want to be using creatine if you are trying to go somewhere in lacrosse
I have been told not to take by the coachs of UNC, Syracuse, Hofstra and Loylola and the Vancouver Ravens that it is not a good drug for endurance and all the coach i talked told me not to take it at all.
Where you play lacrosse by the way?

04-04-2002, 07:21 PM
howd u lose that weight

04-04-2002, 07:22 PM
