Just thought i would share a quick vid of me benching, i know its decline which isn't that popular on here but works great for me, i also do incline with dumbells and pec fly afterwards. This is one of my warm up sets, 18 months ago i could only manage 4 reps.

Is there a reason your right arm locks out way before your left arm does?

To be honest i never really noticed it until i watched the vid, think its just my left lagging a little i have been doing dumbell bench press so hopefully that will make things even out eventually.

Also i usually only do 8 reps but the camera was there so i thought i'd do a couple more so technique does get a little sloppy.

Also today i attempted 180kg/ 400lb for the first time, my spot was quite worried he's only 8stone bless him lol. I know not a great lift but i don't think it was too bad for a first attempt previously my max was 170kg.

Why didn't he let you lift it on your own? He definitely held some weight on both reps judging by the way his face was straining.

Yeah, it's not a max if somebody has their hands on the bar. Bark at him and tell him to take his hands off the weight til it's needed.

Yer i will make sure i do next time, was only aiming for 1 rep but coz he assisted a little i thought i'd go for a second one. Benching not really my strong point only been training 3 years so hopefully all will come in the future.

you might try tucking your elbows slightly to save your shoulders.
