My 2009 Goals:
1. 605-625 equipped bench press in single ply Inzer Rage X
2. 501 unequipped bench press
3. Win the NASA Pro Powersports Bp Championship
4. Win the USAPL Bp Nationals
5. Break more bp records

My main goal is to bench 400+ raw. ( I think it's reachable by the end of 2009 if my current progress continues.)

My goals are the same everyday and thats to be stonger than I was the day before. I can do that, everything else will fall into place.

My main goal is to compete in my first meet. Other shorter term goals are to finally break 500 in the deadlift and 400 in the squat, both raw and both done while staying well under 220.

Raw Elite in the 148's, then on to trying my bench shirt again, maybe some briefs and then go from there...

hoping to have a 1150-1200 raw push pull total.. my first one is to hit over 4 in a meet on the bench and pull 700 on paper!

Where are you at right now? I am kinda in the same boat. Supposed to be competing @181 for the first time in a few weeks, but my knee might stop me from squatting. My best 165 numbers are in my sig. Good luck with your goals.

I will have goals in mind after I see the outcome of my meet in a few weeks.

I wanna hit Elite at 242 in the APF. Will probably look something like...

740 equipped squat
500 bench (single ply f6)
700 deadlift (raw or maybe with a maxdl suit)

The bench is a exaggerated goal but anything over 550 before i turn 20 is good.

Wow, I feel like a wimp. My goals are 300 BP, 365 SQ, 455 DL all with just a belt and wrist wraps at 181. I am curretly at 290, 340, and 415.

get a bench shirt, learn to use it and get at least 1 meet in with it
deadlift 600 +
Just get better at my squats
remain in 220/242 class
own at least 1 state record for bench press. (Got my eye on one now which is my main 2009 goal :) )

Oh, and I'll finally graduate college in 2009 but that's off topic.

I have set the following goals for myself in 2009.The bench might be hard but the other 2 are doable IMO.
Bench 375
Squat 650
Dead 635

Get through my rehab and be able to compete again!

At least I've been able to deadlift. Would like to hit 455 @ 170 this year.

By the end of 2009 it would be great if I was:
-training with a real powerlifting team (Montreal Metal Militia)
-1800 total would be nice. Maybe something like 800/400/600 at a minimum

My goals for 2009:

1) get my hip pain/problem resolved
2) 315 bp
3) 400 squat
4) 450 deadlift
5) bulk to 240ish lbs

All of the above is untested, so it would probably be helpful if I saw what my max was first :clown:

I am starting again after 3 years on Dec 1st(really soon!)

My goals are in Single ply:

660-700 SQ (Titan)
450-470 Bench(Fury NXG +) i will try a Katana at the end of 2009
620-640-DL (?)suit to be determined later

hopefully i will be up there at the end of 2009 at around 218-220lbs

I would love to do a 700kgs total @ 75kgs Bodyweight. which is 1540lbs @ 165lbs. I'd be 22 and lifting in single ply equipment.

damn, that sucks about the knee. what meet is it?

right now i'm kinda all over the place. i have a meet on Dec 6th so we'll see then.

so far though I've squatted 600 in training, but it was right at parallel, depth could have been better. bench i'm really not too sure on either, i've done 385 off a 2 board pretty easy. full range ive done like 325, press wasn't hard but it took forever to touch. my pull is probably around 520ish?

Total 2450lbs and make the top 25 for 308's

I'm actually going to be doing the SSA meet that my team is running on the same day(Dec 6th). My goals were to hit my first 700+ squat, 400+ bench, 550+ deadlift. My knee is the deciding factor. I weighed in light at my meet last month and felt like crap and still smoked 650. SO I know I have the strength for the 700 squat at this bodyweight. Tonight I am gonna test it out and see what happens.

nah I've seen your vids, you're way stronger than I am lol. especially considering you smoked 650, my 600 like I said wasn't breaking parallel and it was really, really hard. theres no way I'd be able to make 181 this time, I'm about 154 right now but I want to be walking around at at least 175 next year. let us know how the squatting goes tonight

Oh boy, I feel embarrassed to post my 2009 goals. You guys are just out of this world.

Hopefully, before March 14, 2009, I'll be able to bench press 315 pounds raw and deadlift 500 pounds raw and compete at a powerlifting meet here in oregon at a bodyweight of 198 pounds. I'll be competing at the 16-17 year old divison.

It depends how my meet goes this coming weekend- I had a complete bicep tear in April and had it reattached- this weekend will be my comeback meet- I'm lifting as a 275, in Powerlifting Australia meet (IPF)-
my attempts will SQ 660- 708- 730, Bench 535, 565, 573, DL 573, 600, 620

Next year I'm after a 2000+ total, a 750 squat- a 501 raw bench (this year my best as 473) and a 600 shirted bench- and at least a 680 DL.

My goals are to make huge progress in all 3 lifts and be more consitent in traing months August- November those months kill me due to my job. Must find away to beat that.

I also want to hit bigger and more meets this year.

In my last PL meet (November 1) I nearly bombed due to feeling fatigued for most of the meet. My preparation had gone well, and I expected to pr in each of my lifts. However, I failed to recognize pneumonia symptoms, and I ended up in the emergency room 3 days following the meet with pneumonia in both lungs. The doctors said that I had probably been walking around with it for a few days, which could be why I felt so weird at the meet. So for 2009, this is sort of a REDEMPTION/BIG GOALS year for me.

To FINALLY hit the lifts (in a meet) I'm capable of hitting at APF Masters Nationals in May.

Goals in Baton Rouge are:


931+ squat (Boss/Boss combo)

722+ Bench (2 ply Super Katana)

650 Deadlift (Titan Centurion / 1 ply)

2303+ total

Which would (at present) break these all-Time >50 Records:

Squat (925 by Mike McDaniel)

Bench (716 by Roger Ryan/Bench Only)

Total (2142 by Gene Bell @ 220!)

To compete as a 275 or light 308 with a meet day weight of approx. 283. My proven best weight (in either class)...never again at 300 pounds (lesson learned)

Out-total Frankle at 220, whatever it takes! right now its 2239. If i could do head to head great, if i could do it at the same time he re-breaks his 198 total, that would be cool as well.

Im also gonna try to squeeze in a raw meet and a bodybuilding show.
