View Full Version : What liquids to drink?

What juices are good to drink, but don't add excess fat? I've only been drinking water, and fruit juices since I started working out ~6 months ago. I've been wondering, is Gatorade a no-go? What about iced tea, and coffee?

No long descriptions necessary, just a short answer for each drink is fine.

Thanks. :)

Because, I'm like 2 kilos away from the exact build that I want, and I don't want to make any mistakes.

"Drink whatever you want."

I'm going for a clean bulk.

This kind of back-talk is not going to get you far on this forum, unfortunately. Anyway, you can drink whatever you want as long as you are training hard enough. If you are so concerned with excess fat from drinking juice, don't drink it. Just drink water. Or beer of course.

It wasn't back-talk, sorry if it seemed that way.

Anyways, I specifically want to know, is Gatorade fine, or really bad?

Gatorade will indeed kill you - stay away from it.

As will water, you should just stop drinking it altogether...

In the Marines they give you water, milk and fruit juice. You don't need anything else. Except maybe for protein shakes...

I drink milk, water, diet coke, beer, whey protein, coffee and OJ. Am I going to hell?

Also, no swimming or showers because you may accidentally ingest trace amounts of water.

showers should be ok, but if you ingest any water consult your physician immediately.

Nor breathe. There is water vapor in the air. Do you have any plastic wrap? You might want to cover up your skin.

Drink whatever you want.

I'm going to have to agree

But I'd really just stick to water and milk. Drink a coffee if you feel like it. Have a pop once in a while, it won't kill ya.

You're two kilos away from your exact build?? Well if you've been doing everything right the whole way there, what do you need our advice for?

You should be able to figure that one out. It will help you understand nutrition better. Which is why you're here, right???

What is in Gatorade? Or any other juice for that matter? What is in it that might not be best for you in large amounts?

Hint: It starts with s and ends with r

So I can't drink,

Water
Gatorade
Milk
Juice

Right?

I can't go outside if it rains, right? I can't breathe, because the trace amounts of water in the air are going to kill me, right? No showering either, for the same reasons as going out in the rain, right?

I think I have the answer. Can I drink blood?

Purple drank. Ideal because it's only ingredients are water, sugar, and purple.

On a serious note though, as long as you're not downing a few gallons of Pepsi/keg of beer/handle/etc, just drink whatever.

Close Matt, but no cigar...

from Wikipedia:

"In vertebrates it is composed of blood cells suspended in a liquid called blood plasma. Plasma, which comprises 55% of blood fluid, is mostly water (90% by volume)"

Drink approximately 1 gallon of milk per pound (of bodyweight) and I can guarantee that you will gain absolutely no excess body weight

Matt - it's a tough road, but one that we need to educate people on.
