Anyone with ideas on diet for the lifter who goes in @ 5:00 am?
I've only seen plans for lifters who go in the afternoon/evening.

What would want to know? Grab something light to go with your coffee on the way in and then your day is normal past that.

like Ben said, i'd go with something light. maybe gatorade + a scoop of protein and a couple caffeine pills. i don't like coffee :clown:

I workout first thing in the morning and down a MRP in milk, it has 56 protein, 56 carbs, 1 fat. during warm ups and maybe my first couple of sets, I drink 1 scoop whey and 2 scoops glycomaize. In the past I would use 1-2 scoops whey in 1/2-1 cup oatmeal, but the MRP is better.

I go with gatorade and something light in the morning. I snack on peanuts on the way to the gym.

I usually have a 24oz. coffee on my way to the gym with either some Hostess mini doughnuts I get when Im getting my coffee or a PBJ sandwich on the way out the door.

I wait until after lifting to put down some serious food, typically steak and eggs. or some form of lean meat and eggs

I don't lift that early, but about 45 min-hour after I wake up. I usually get in some oatmeal, hard-boiled egg, and a piece of fruit.

I am thinking of switching to just a liquid shake and saving the breakfast until after.
