What fit is the shirt?
Do you have any experience with other shirts?
Can you take a video?

Provide more info.

Start breaking it in by using boards. Focus on touching a 4 board 1 week and then so on til you are at your chest. You can even use half boards in between if you need to.

Make sure the shirt is on right and not to jacked up to start out with. Then like I said start at a 4 board and slowly work your way down to the chest over a ciurse of a few weeks.

We put SmokinHawk in a VERY tight shirt and over the last few weeks just slowly worked it down and he just smoked 435 to his chest yesterday.

Get some video up so we can see what you're doing. And try to find someone who knows what they're doing that can help you. Touching is all about technique and patience.

big thing i think that helped me was i widened my grip to max legal, and touched easier, as Mike noticed that my grip was a bit narrow (pinkies on the rings were i bench raw)

also like Mike said it might take some time to stretch it out so work it down with boards.
If your eyes aren't popping blood vessels its not hard to get it to touch.

have someone pull your hands out there if need be. The closer your hands are, the longer your rom

Give it a few tries. If you can touch in it brand new then the fit is too loose. It will stretch a tad.

You should have your training partner pull the slack out of your shirt and put your belt on tight. There shouldn't be any material bunched up in the chest.

i found a trick that helps to touch, is to cross your arms just at head height, get someone to pull the slightly to get rid of the slack, tighten the belt. when you set up under the bar all the shirt creases will be gone as you arch and lay down. the collar should be near, if not, touching your neck.

then tuck tuck tuck those elbows. If it's a single ply shirt, your going to have to bring it down with a certain amoount of speed, btu under control the whole time. this will wind up the shirt and help you touch better.

Thats the way its supposed to be. Don't try and stretch it out, just let the bench work do it for you

I've never seen somebody wear anything under their bench shirt.

Lose the wife beater. Bring it up a little higher on the shoulders at first. Pull the slack out of it.

I've worn a sleeveless T under mine before when the heat is bad. Otherwise I sweat so much I slide right off the bench

That shirt looks just fine. If you ain't bleedin, its too loose

Soak the shirt at the beginning of you workout. Especially the seams of the collar, shoulders, arms, and the chest plate.

The shirt needs to be pulled on your shoulders and arms first. Then, move the collar down to where it is in the picture. Maybe a little higher.

Like Drew said, pull all the slack out of it and belt it up.

Then, follow Wolfy's advice about using the boards.

Get the arms up a bit higher. You can see your armpit which is technically illegal. Get the collar up higher towards your throat, that will help too.

As Rhodes said, we the chest plate and shoulder seams. This will help stretch it a tad without ripping.

OK but it will not budge on the arms that is as far as it goes thats why i thought it might be a problem because it is not seating in the arm pit i got 3in taken off the sleeves which maybee i should have kept because i have long arms?

I read where you can stretch the arms a little by placing something inside the sleeve and store it that way. idk though...

also, a personal shirt question...i got 225 to touch pretty easy on 4 board and i think it would have on 3. 295 def. does on 3. is this too loose? just curious.

Travis Bell

4brd isn't a good indication. Even I could proably get 225 to touch on a 4brd

i was just curious haha...im pretty sure it would have touched on 3....but not sure. i know it would have at the end of the workout atleast...

I wouldn't use less than a raw max to break the shirt in. You should probably be working with at least 365 or whatever your best 2-board is.

im not sure i could lock 365 out...ill give it a shot next day im trying to break it in. 315 was my touch and go max and i had some bounce to it. the most ive paused is 275 but that was like a month ago.

before i can't return the shirt is the shirt made to seat in the armpit should i have keep the extra length in the armsi had 3in taken off is that why i can't get it all the way up the arm just want to check before i can't return it
