I felt like the second lift was taken into the rack a bit too quickly. The Rhodemaster 5000 remedied that on the third. All in all a really good night considering I was sick with a cold most of the week. I think the Thanksgiving bloat helped a lot. Now I mcknow what to eat the day before a meet.

What did Rhodes mean when he said "hips"?

He wanted Vincent to keep his hips up.

Vincent, you're training is going real well. You know what you have to do. Thanks for all the help you've given me, too.

It always amazes me how fast the weights move when you press them, Vin.

What did Rhodes mean when he said "hips"?

I have always had a habit of dropping my hips at the bottom of the lift and then heaved the weight. Now with the shirt I was doing the same thing. I was relying on strength instead of technique. Now with the tight shirts it's so hard to touch that dropping my hips creates a greater range of motion. Plus dropping 800+pounds into my belly and then heaving is not a good idea.

So Rhodes reminds me to keep my hips up. I f'ing hate it. I have to unlearn what I have been doing for 15 years. Plus I feel no pop out of the hole, especially when benching raw. However, it's having a nice carryover on my equipped bench. I used to mcthrow the weight and basically catch it at the top. Now I am able to grind weight at the top where I was never able to before.

Watch how I drop my hips in the hole with this raw bench

Thanks guys. I really feel like I am heading in the right direction. I have about 10 weeks until my competition so this is just the begining stage of the training cycle. I just have to keep reminding myself none of these numbers mcmatter until I put the weight up at the meet.

Dude, you're on track for a great meet. Stay healthy, keep supplementing, icing, contrast showers - all the little stuff.

Good talk, Russ

Just when I feel like I'm getting a little stronger I see videos like that and realize I've got a long long way to go. ( which is awesome. )

Very impressive lifting Vin.
