I am competing in February and wanted to get my opener out of my head. I am planning to open with 825. I took it for two singles tonight for sanity sake. Here are the lifts:

Again, Vinnie, your technique and the speed with which you move these weights just amazes me. How did the lifts feel to you, or maybe I should say how did you feel about the lifts?

Thanks everyone. The lifts felt good. I am really confident under the bar now. I don't have to think about the lift. I finally feel like I am on the right track. A lot of thanks goes out to our crew at Southside. They have all been very helpful.

Mike, I am light for me. Right about 297. Not that I have a small gut, but I have learned to really push my hips into my arch. In addition I am wearing one of those thin lever bench belts from Inzer and am wearing it very low. This is allowing me to really push my belly up. I used to wear a regular lever belt up around my belly button. I can't believe in hindsight how much that was holding me back from pushing my stomach up to meet the bar.

Hahahaha after re-reading my post I guess that is kind of what I meant to be asking. Not that your belly was bigger itself just how much bigger the arch is. The set up looks GREAT!!!

Go get em you got 900 in ya!!! You cant let old Rob be the only one over that way doing it :)

That's kind of question I was wondering about. Got a new inzer belt on the way and was wondering for benching should I be wearing it around my waist and lower around the hips.

Awesome lifts Vincent! Textbook on both reps!

I've got a bench belt from Spud Inc. and you can crank it down really tight and use it to push the belly up. Same principle as what you are doing. The velcro on the Spud Inc. belt really lets you get the thing tight and push your belly up.

Carefully. And with a whole lot of time and practice.

I bet you can do 2 reps instead of 2 singles with the way that bar went up...
