Most kinds of pasta have a "low" ranking on the Glycemic Index, meaning it breaks down more slowly than, say white bread. Doesn't look to me like it'd be a fast burning carb.

So slow burning is good or bad?

It depends....

Before, during and after your workout you want a high GI carb such as dextrose whereas if you're just sitting in front of a computer or something you'll want more low GI carbs.

Depends on the pasta and what it is mixed with. If you add a bunch of sauce or cheese it will slow it down. The sugars in the sauce (if tomato) are probably going to be the highest GI carbs. A lot of tomato sauce has HFCS or other sugar added.

also i think it depends on if it is whole wheat pasta or not. Whole wheat pasta burns alot slower, i think it does anyway.

i like to eat applesauce pre-workout for my fast carbs, and pasta/rice at night for the complex slow burning carbs, just a suggestion.
