Ok, so my gym has just upgraded considerably. The owner just purchased some new flooring, glute-ham raise, reverse hyper, and this machine that i do not know the name of. It simulates a car deadlift i believe. It has two sets of handles(one higher and one lower) and you load plates to the sides. Then you just deadlift it. The handles are not like the typical bar going across your shins...they are more like a dumbbells handles. I had never seen one of these before but, needless to say...it kicked my butt. 3 sets of 5 and i was wasted. anyone ever used one of these?

It's just a machine shrug, but you can simulate the car dl on it if you can get enough plates on there.

Thank you haha. Yeah, it doesnt really have the room for a tone of plates....you can fit 4 45's on each peg and it has 4 pegs. So thats a max weight of 720. Plenty of weight for me right now. and i didnt necessarily mean it was used to train for a car deadlifts....it just reminded me of one in the way it was set up.

Yeah, your best bet for those is get the thinnest plates possible, I can stack about 5 plates on each of 4 racking points on our similar machine, which is 20 total, but the only issue is that is really feels like its less than 400 lbs in your hands, which sucks. But if you look at the ratio of a 3000+ lb car being 600-800 on a car deadlift you can understand why this is.

sad thing is...gym on has 2 100lb plates and they are def. as thick as 2 45s each haha. I had 10 plates on it all together and it felt like it was about 405-415....it has demolished my lower back haha.

I have seen some cheap 45's that are about 6" taller than a normal plate but as thick as a 45. I think they were cap
