I hate plain oatmeal but want to start benefiting from it's nutrition. I love the artificial apple cinnamon and peach oatmeal packets but don't really like how much sugar is in it. Whats a healthy addition to plain oatmeal that makes it healthier/tastier?

I make a high protein banana bread oatmeal

oatmeal
1 banana - chopped

Mix all in blender or magic bullet, scramble on medium until cooked. Tastes pretty good.

lol i've tried tha before been, and it is actually pretty good, i just hated that the oatmeal soaked up alot of the liquids from the eggs and made them kinda dry

I eat oatmeal almost every morning. I like to stir in vanilla protein powder, blueberries (or whatever berries are fresh and on sale), and chopped walnuts. Or brown sugar, maybe a bit of cinnamon, a handful of raisins, and chopped walnuts. Very nutritious and lots of calories.

I just get the flavored oatmeals from Costco in bulk. Cinammon, mixed berry, blue berry, peaches e.t.c

not all together, but just mix and match different stuff til you find something you like.

Bourbon
Quaker has "low sugar" flavored oatmeal thats supplemented with Splenda. It tastes the same IMO, I beleive apple cinnamon is one of the flavors.

Do steel cut oats in the crockpot overnight, with cinnamon, splenda (or honey), and a handful of dried fruit and nuts. It gets a "crust" on top, and you can lift it out like a piece of lasagna. The smell will get you out of bed. Best ever.

I add milk, pears, and milled flax seed. I don't know why, but pears and oatmeal go great together.
Blueberries + Cinnamon :d
