I'm sure most people doing at least a moderate amount of training have picked up on the tuna staple. Cheap, good source of protein (etc), and very simple to prepare.
What do you guys put in/add to your tuna to spice it up, add even more nutritional benefits, ... whatever?
I think a lot of people have had mayo added at some point or another. Do any of you find that to be counter productive?
I like adding maybe half a table spoon of the omega3 mayo that kraft makes, a full table spoon of relish, and a healthy dose of mustard. Today I dumped in some original flavored goldfish crackers to add some garbs to my snack.

If you're going for simplicity a bit of lemon juice can be really good straight into the can.

During a bulking phase i do this
1 can tuna
1 package Ramen noodles (minus the flavor packet)
diced jalapeno peppers
diced onion
small amount of mayo (omega 3 variety)
small amount of sazon and adobo for seasoning
and a bit of honey
mix it up and eat it straight or put it on bread. Great for bulking phase and may sound nasty but is actually really good.

Tuna Cakes ( this makes one serving)
1/2 cup tuna ( I like to use the spicy flavored tuna packet)
1 egg white
4 oz sweet potato mashed
chopped green onion
splash lemon juice
pinch of fresh parsley
dash cayenne pepper
Mix all together and form into a patty. Cook in pan with oil or cooking spray. Brown on both sides. Pretty good!

Instead of using mayo/miracle whip/etc., I use plain yogurt. It works well to hold it all together and tastes decent too.

Good stuff guys. I have been getting flavored tuna (herb & garlic) and I actually really like it. Lately I have just been eating it right out of the packet. I do like to mix it with a cup or so of non fat cottage cheese as well. A LOT of good protein - eating that makes me thirsty so I end up drinking roughly 32 ounces of water with it.
It doesn't get much more covenant than that which is better than McDonald's if you are busy.

2 cans of tuna, 1 cup of low fat cottage cheese, some sugar free relish, black pepper, garlic powder. That's what I do most.

I just tried it in my dorm earlier today, and I now have a new staple food. This is awesome.

That would depend on the tuna, the cheese, and the bread.
2 cans of water packed tuna (usually 8oz total after drainage) have 52g protein.
