Today i made an amazing protein bar unlike others its:
moist
no added sugars or bad fats
no bake
absolutely delicious
My recipe needs tweaking to get it perfect, but for my first go it went great. I only made one bar as i was experimenting, but will make some more soon and see if i can perfect it
Ingredients
2 tbs dates, chopped finely
1 tbs raisins, chopped finely
3 tbs oats - plus more until right consistency
3 tbs apple juice
half scoop whey protein
1 heaped tsp peanut butter
Method
Mix all ingredients except peanut butter and apple juice in a bowl.
Put peanut butter and apple juice and microwave for 30-40 seconds until warm and mix well.
Add wet mix to dry ingredients and stir
Add more oats if necessary until thick consistency
Put on sheet of tin foil and fold up
Smack on surface to form a bar shape
Refrigerate until eaten (I froze as i couldnt wait!!)
At the moment bar is coming out a bit sticky, so am going to play with it so that i still get a moist bar but isnt so sticky... any ideas?
