Things are slowly but surely comming together

This set was done after my main ME exercise today which was floor press with 150lbs of chain where I worked up to 375 bar weight.

All in all a good day. I'm looking forward to the meet in a couple weeks. In the mean time I still have a couple things I need to tune up. If you watch, my elbows flare a little early which really slowed my lockout.

Nothing is ever perfect. Just gotta keep getting better.

Enjoy

I'm sorry, I thought I saw you bench 500 for a double.

THAT WAS SICK!

My elbows flare at pretty much the exact same time as yours in that video.

haha that most certainly would be awesome

I'll be in the 275 class since I'm weighing around 250-260 right now.

I'm pretty confident I could cut down to 242, but the weight loss would come at a pretty big risk to my strength I think plus the places are decided by wilks formula so I'll probably just weigh in around 250 (give or take) and then get my bloat on and head to 270

Nice lifts. You look really strong. Form looks great also. A few tips, first get used to pausing. Not pausing enough bit me in the ass the first two meets I tried to hit the 600. Second, if you plan on dropping weight plan on your raw bench going down. There is a much bigger correlation between bodyweight and strength in raw lifting than in equipped.

Thanks Vin. Should I pause my rep sets as well?

I'll be honest. I decided to do the whole double thing because Ryan and I are super close in strength and I saw him doing them so I decided to try adding in doubles after my ME work, but I hadn't factored in the idea that he's used to pausing in meets and I'm not.

I've been pausing my ME sets and just went back to touch and go for the rep sets.

I totally agree on the cut, thats why I sent Eric Talmant that video of the 475 because it was enough to cover both the 242 class and the 275 class. Given that my waist is getting a little smaller right now and I'm still getting heavier, 275's is where its at.

Trav, this close to the meet I would pause all heavy raw benches even reps. Have someone call you. It just has to become second nature. Again, looking super strong. Keep it up.

You got it boss. I'm on it!

I think you're probably right on the pausing. This as most likely my last week for reps anyways.

i've been using the reps as a heavy ascessory exercise. Next week I'll be doing two ME exercises. The first will be doubled mini bands for a single and then I'll be taking a particular weight I have in mind off a 2brd. both will be paused and I'm going to have Lou call me.

The week after that will just be some light reps and more focused on form than anything else.

Thanks a lot for the help Vin. I really appreciate it.
