Am I wasting my time drinking a protein shake with water only for breakfast?
I am not working out in the morning so I am not sure if the body can absorb it before I urinate it out.

Protein is food. It is using it just like any other food.

Its a good for that quick, fast digesting shot of whey that you give your body. You will need to eat something shortly after to give your body energy for the next couple hours.

I typically take down a shake first thing in the morning (16oz of Milk, 1/4 Serving of Serious Mass and 1 scoop of ON Whey) and then about 20 minutes later (after showering and dressing) I put down some eggs and oats.

morning is a pretty good time for a shake especially for slow release proteins.

Make sure it's not a low calorie/fat protein shake (Nitrean)....I always use to love Muscle Milk.
