I want to make my own weightgainer shakes and I see people here like to add oats. Are these cooked oats or dry oats? I'm assuming if they're dry they must be ground up? Thanks guys.

pour the oats into the blender straight out of the container
blending it for 60 seconds or so will totally liquefy them

Thank you very much.
I cook a big tub of oats at the beginning of each week and mix them in my shakes cooked. I use a hand blender instead of table top blender to mix my shakes. The hand blender never seemed to liquify the uncooked oats so I started cooking them. I don't use table top blenders to mix my shakes because they seem to put too much air in the shakes.
I've tried and tried and cannot seem to liquify my oats.
It'd be good because they taste like cow turds mixed with unions and fried potatos.

Yeah, I don't know where Davey is getting his Oats but I've blended them and they never liquefy, there always gonna be there. I will say this though, if you use Oatmeal packets, those do break down and soften much better in the blender than the instant/quick oats from the bigger tub.
