I would say yes. I took it a year year ago in conjunction with a clean diet and saw a loss of weight around 10 lbs. However, once I went off it easily came back. Simply put it can be done.

hmmm so how long were you taking, to drop the 10lbs? a year? and would you say it came back cause you began to intake more calories again?

Be effective at what? Fatloss? If it helps control your diet then yes. Is it going to melt the fat off you, no. Even with a routine it won't do that. Like you said, they are appetite suppressants and energy boosters.

ok so going on that, not jumping subjects of "hydroxycut", but are there any actual "fat burners"...i read you guys discussing T-rex on another thread...and i know there is AS that has the properties of burning fat, but trying to see the legal forms first

There are things that may speed up your metabolism 1-2% that are legal. Products like nitor or ephedra. So if your basal metabolic rate is 2000 a day and you up that 1% you now burnt at extra 20 calories. Basically anything that works well is illegal and has a lot of possible side effects.

Exactly, especially for someone who is not training.

RipChase - what are you really looking for here? Most people who are interested in getting in shape or improving their bodies understand that working out is a major factor. If you are not interested in training you could take as many legal or illegal substances as you would like and chances are that you would not be very pleased with the results.

As others mentioned - the caffeine based products like hydroxycut should be used simply as an energy booster, do not rely on them for drastic body composition changes or fall prey to their marketing campaigns.

clean up your diet and while taking it you might notice some diffrence yes , but it's NOT a miracle drug your not gonna just become 20lbs lighter overnight it's energy booster and appetite suppressant with hydroxycut your paying for the name more than you are the product.

What is the best thermogneic product?

Exercise...

Most of the stimulants on the market will increase thermogensis, none of them will have too much advantage over others since the majority are similar in terms of ingredients. In some cases you will pay more or end up with a lesser product from a company that does a lot of marketing.

Nitor is one that a lot of guys on this board use and have had good results with. I have not tried it so others might be better suited to guide you on that particular product.

Start constructing and scroungeing what gym equipment you can. goodwill or discount stores have weights benches and tons of other stuff useually for dirt cheap. it aint gotta be pretty to get the job done. Have a friend, relative, anyone stop off and get some stuff for you. If nothing else your body weight can be used for workout.

pull-ups
sit-ups
chin-ups
etc...

for more weight put a backpack on and put something of weight into it. theres plenty that can be done from your house. as house arrest do you have access to your backyard or is it strictly INSIDE? I've ran around a room only a wrestling mat and a half size (not sure exacts on size) for tons of time. even from inside your house you can get a workout done.

There is tons of body weight stuff you can do. Heck just get a kettlebell and a pullup bar and you can get killer workouts.
