View Full Version : Anyone need lots of calories to add mass?

I am adding lean mass but i have to say that my calorie intake must be about 4500 at the moment and the scales arent going up that much.

I totalled calories up yesterday and i was suprised that it was 4500 and over on some days.

Anyone else with a high metabolism and anyone else who needs a lot of calories to add any weight?

I dont want to 'just add mass', i want to add lean mass, without the fat gain.

For how long have you been eating 4500/day? What are your stats now?

FYI, some fat should accompany the muscle naturally on a bulk. Your goal should be to add as much lean mass as possible without adding too much fat. Typically, the slower you bulk (a relatively low caloric surplus) will help in limiting fat gain while gaining LBM, but it typically takes longer.

4500 cals and scale aint moving? Im always jealous of guys that can eat that much and need to eat more to gain. I gain at around 2500-2800 cals. Not that that doesnt have its benefits...but its way too easy to get ~3000 calories.

I agree that you will get some fat gain - but like i say - i am trying to limit that as much as possible whislt adding lean mass.

It has been the same for about 4-5 weeks now.

I am at 198lbs.

Keep your protein high, your weight gain to about a lb a week, and you'll be golden.

yeah i hate eating everything in my house and not gaining at least one pound its terrible
