I titled this that to get your attention.
I am not saying all whey is but one brand is that I know of.
Other brands are safe I am assuming.
I have been taking whey for a bout a 2 years now, well this summer I switched to NECTAR WHEY PROTEIN. I liked it because of its great taste, I took it for about 2 months no problems, I had some slight stomach pain but I didn't think anything of it.
I stopped lifting and stopped taking it because I felt no need. Well I have been taking it for a couple of months now again because I started back up lifting.
I started getting heart palpitations I want to say around the beginning of january. For those that don't know Palpitations make your heart beat abnormal it can be fast slow or skip beats etc. It wasn't too worried because I read you can get this from working out and its harmless. I increased my protein intake to 3 times a day and the palpitations got real bad. I read up and found that this protein drink uses splenda. Splenda is a poisonous artificial sweetener that does all kinds of stuff to you! So last sunday I stopped taking it. My symptoms have faded a bit and I haven't had the palpitations in like 2 days. But yesterday I felt light headed and had a head ache I laid down and it went away. Right now as I type this I feel a little light headed. I plan on going to the doc soon.
But I am pretty sure that this stuff will go away in another week, I hope.
I am a very strong healthy person, I hope this gives me some edge.
But anyways STAY AWAY FROM SPLENDA AND NECTAR WHEY PROTEIN PLEASE... Anybody have any advice or similar experience contribute to this post thankyou.

Boy, what a gross overgeneralization

You have stopped taking the protein and are still having the symptoms, so you blame the protein, or rather the splenda? That is a poor assumption to make. Just because you read some negative stuff on splenda on the interwebs doesn't make it true (contradictory to popular opinion)

You are right to go to the doctor though. Hopefully he'll figure out what the problem is. I'm sure that is very frustrating

splenda is good on strawberries. I prefer real sugar though.

Splenda is not a poison as the shock articles on the internet would make you believe. Calm down, and don't believe all the "(instert common food/supplement here) will kill you!!11" websites.

I find it highly unlikely that several months of protein use would cause heart problems. Your heart is a very strong organ and most problems are long in the making.
If you are young, and you have no strong family history for heart related conditions, you probably have nothing to worry about.

Go get checked out by your doctor and rule out any potentially serious issues. My guess? It's mostly in your head, and reading those kind of articles is exacerbating your condition. There are an enormous array of factors that can cause heart palipations and a psychological contribution is more than likely.

I know your heart was in the right place, and you are genuinely concerned about the health of yourself and others. Not to come off harsh, but please do some thorough research before posting pretty harsh claims. This site serves as a resource for a lot of people, and they shouldn't have to sift through these kinds of posts.

Splenda is safe. I consume it every single day.

I consume about 1/2 cup of it daily. I have been for the past 2-3 years. Not a single issue.

I would be dead if this were true...

I think I had this happen to me also!!! I once took a protein shake before I drank a bottle of vodka. I was puking everywhere. Down with the protein!
