Here's my first time back in my shirt since the meet in TN back at the beginning of December. I felt really good in my shirt. Weights all felt very light and easily controllable.

The reps at the end were just for the heck of it.

I'm really looking forward to competing in March

Strong lifting. Which bands do you find the most beneficial in doing reverse band pressing? A blue band so you can get used to holding a lot more weight at the top or the green and purple so they aren't too far off from your regular bench?

haha that's why I did 405! You manhandled 534 last weekend, 405 should be a cake walk :)

Being a bench only guy though, I'm going to recover a lot faster haha.

I may have been motivated by my lackluster performance haha. Had to redeem myself somehow!!

its time to get workin on the next meet anyways :evillaugh: bring it on!!

I feel that blue bands just take it too far for intended purposes at this time. They take off too much at the top. I want to have the majority of the weight in my hands at the top because that's the point.

Raw though, blue bands are fun every now and then. I think my PR is like 675 raw with blue bands LOL

You need to look at it as it's own ME exercise though. Don't try and base your straight weight bench off it.

Thanks so much for the compliments guys! I really wasn't sure what a good number of reps is with 405 so I just went til it started to feel heavy and quit. I'm not sure yet what I'll do for reps next week. I'm going to keep it somewhat light for the time being. Maybe the football bar next week

Great stuff Travis!

Now remember, Ryan is an old man and needs rest...

:D

Jk Ryan! I'm the old man with about 50 nagging injuries right now...

haha I have a feeling we'll see a set of 10-12 reps from Ryan.

Had to do something to redeem myself! LOL I have to take advantage of it while he's still tired from doing a full meet!

Ryan is the man, and I'm sure that now Rob's seen this video, we'll see a video of him doing a set of 10 with 500lbs! LOL

Thanks man. I try and keep em' tight, otherwise I develop bad habits and won't get any carryover to the meet. I just do what guys like Ryan and Vin do

Travis Bell

I'm around 5'9" 260lbs right now, best meet equipped bench is 740 and current best raw bench is 500.

I'm going to try and up both those numbers in the near future, hopefully this spring.

Thanks for the props

I gotcha, the reverse blue bands were pretty far off from my normal max out bench. Next time we do some reverse band benching I'll give it a go with the greens. I appreciate you getting back to me.

Thats sick bro! That is some serious weight! I wish I had the tendons and shoulders to go big like that. It hurts just watching that vid!! There is a guy at my gym that I believe holds the state bench record here in TN. He hit 750 with a shirt I think and benches around 550 raw. I believe he is about your weight too. My other friend was hitting around 650 but he was SHW. That takes alot of balls to even get under that much weight!!
Major props to ya!!!!
